Hello, I introduce myself, I am new to the forum, I have always read it but I decided to register to expose my doubt, it turns out that I have an Nvidia 9800 GTX+ graphics card and I would like to change it for something similar and more current but I have no idea what models my pc can choose, my pc is:

      QuadCore AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 955, 3222 MHz (16 x 201)

      Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 (1 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 5 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR3 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

      8 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 MHz) (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz)

22 inch monitor and a 30 inch TV for watching series.

thanks in advance, see if someone can advise me, the budget would be around 150€.

          Hello and welcome

          Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 OC 2GB GDDR5 - 143 euros
          Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 Dual-X 1GB GDDR5 - 155 euros
with this one you get free games: Tomb Raider, BioShock, FarCry 3 Blood Dragon and Crysis 3

if you prefer NVIDIA: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti OC 2GB GDDR5 - 143 euros
          you also get free games

the 7790 and the gtx 650Ti are very similar in performance, the 7850 is clearly the most powerful

          regards

Thanks for the replies, the Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 Dual-X 1GB GDDR5 looks interesting, do they give away the games if I buy it at PCcomponentes.com only?

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2GB OC also looks good but it's a bit more expensive, between these two, what's the difference? Will it be noticeable?

I have no idea about the games, whether it's the store's fault or the manufacturer's

As for the graphics card, buy what you see within your budget
The GTX660 is a very good graphics card, but it's out of your budget
And you didn't say what power supply you have, that's important

Well, without going over your budget, I would buy this: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti OC 2GB GDDR5
They give you 55 euros in games, it's a Ti with O.C. 2gb of memory and dual fans that are very quiet
And it really performs very well, with the expenses it comes out to about 150 euros

              Regards

They give away the games in the stores that have that promotion, not just PCcomponentes. Anyway, I think the 660 is a better deal, even if it's €9 more than your budget.

MSI GeForce GTX 660 OC 2GB GDDR5 912-V287-025 Graphics Card

Especially for consoles, which have more memory, and maybe it would be good to have it sooner rather than later. If you're looking at a 78x0, I would look for the 2GB ones.

That 660 seems pretty cheap to me, as it's €4 more than a 650ti and it's much better. Plus, it's cheaper than some 650ti boost models, although it seems like they're going to release a 760 in a few days, but I don't think it will be at those prices, and the jump in performance, power consumption, and temperature is huge from a 9800GTX+. That 660 is a much better card. The AMD ones are great for gaming, but they're a bit more expensive, especially the 2GB ones.

                  Best regards

oh that the video has a glitch :troll:
another option you have MarioXD is to wait a little, that with the release of the 760 the 660 will have to lower its price and then buy a gigabyte 660 (it's not because it's my graphics card;D it's because ….. I think it's the coolest and quietest of all (the 660) and I value that a lot) or an evga 660 3gb if they lower the price enough

I like that MSI because it's small, it's compact and powerful and all the 660 are cool, but I see that graphics card as ideal for an HTPC, to play at good quality, with a small case and even if you have a small power supply.

Rumors say that the 760 will be a renamed 660Ti and the 760 Ti will be like the 670, in any case they will make the more expensive 660s lower their prices, that MSI was not so cheap before, they are surely already lowering prices to try to get rid of stock.

                        regards

I don't know if it was that MSI or another brand (I only remember that it was "small" and with a single fan) some time ago it was on sale in a store for a fairly similar price (and it was 6 months ago at least)
therefore yes or yes (unless they take them off the market) they will have to lower the price more because 15 euros is a miserable discount, for 150 160 I think the 660 will end
                          greetings

I think they should all be around that price, that is, about 165€ or less, of course they will go down as soon as the 760 and 760Ti come out, we are already seeing the 680 and 670 go down with the release of the 770, but it is also possible that they will keep the prices for a while, the high end goes down first, it also goes down more, in any case I am surprised that a 660 moves games like this, although I suppose they will not maintain 60 fps, but it looks pretty good.

                            regards

I've already seen some in BF3 but I think FC3 or Crysis 3 have better graphics, they're a bit more demanding.

but I had seen this one from BF3.

for capturing video it's better to do it with a camera, with fraps or afterburner it's not the same.

The 760 without you is falling apart, according to this.

The power supply is a 630w nox, I could stretch the budget for the graphics card a little.

EVGA GeForce GTX 660 3GB and is this one much better?

now I have a clearer idea that a 660 is a good change from what I have right now.

I'm looking at prices to see what I find. XD

For me, the MSI is better, I don't see the point of 3Gb, I would only understand it if they were three cards and playing at resolutions 1440p or higher, the 660 only allows SLI of 2 cards.

Besides, if the EVGA is a reference model, I think the MSI has better components, better PCB and better heat dissipation, so if you don't plan to put more than one graphics card and also for resolutions 1920x1080, I see 3GB as useless, because before there will be a lack of power rather than memory.

The change to a 7850,660 or 7870 is very big from your card, besides they are Dx11 graphics, in DX9 or DX10 they will render even more, but that 660 renders very well in DX11, that's why it's not just a gain in performance that is already big, but better graphics with dx11.

                                        regards
