Raspberry Pi
-
The little box is cute, you will be posting your progress with the little one soon. -
Madre mía, with case and all; what power. I have it tied with three commas to a 2.5 disk :ugly: -
I bought everything from ModMyPi. Raspi B + Case + Charger 5,25V@2A = 55e shipping included.
It's cheaper than at Farnell (about 50e -without charger) and it arrived in a week. The case is a free gift when you buy the raspi and you can mix and match the colors as you like. I'm really happy to have bought it from that site.
The charger is this:

For those interested, the 5 mpx camera module for the Pi is already on sale.
Camera board available for sale! | Raspberry Pi 20€ approx. -
Well yes, I read a while ago that they were going to release the 5 mpixels camera. The truth is that the image quality is quite regular, but I am very likely to end up buying it for a little project I have in mind.

For 119USD they give a complete :troll: this kano looks good.
-
As a toy it's okay, but for that price there are much more interesting things to use as a PC (though, without so much frills).
In the guide I made some time ago, you can see the performance for everyday tasks and unfortunately, it doesn't measure up to certain basic tasks like browsing the web.
The raspi has a lot of potential as a home server and for graphic applications in electronics projects.
As a desktop "PC", it could be very useful as a dumb terminal as long as they are office tasks.

You've seen the fridge of this pi XD
-
I think it's an exaggeration, but it looks pretty enough.
Puff la raspi, I've had it abandoned for too long. I hope to have a lot of free time in June or July, to see if I can tinker with a few things I have pending.
-
I also have it stopped, and I found an SD Sandisk that seems to not corrupt anymore. My intention is to make it operational but only with web, owncloud in a plan with few files (replace my ex-2Gb of Dropbox) and to synchronize Firefox bookmarks, not much more.

Have you seen the Chinese clone?
Banana Pi, the Chinese clone of Raspberry Pi much more powerful -
My God, it's almost more powerful than my tablet. We'll have to see the price because it's sure to be more expensive than the raspi, even though that SATA port gives it a thousand extra points.
-
Chinese boards with Allwinner chips are great, their performance is on par with a Pi. I want this one, I think it's a much more interesting form factor than copying the rPi, and it's free hardware (there are schematics and pcbs to download for everything) -
The new pi2 model has been brought forward and is now available to buy

It has a quad core and 1gb of ram at the same price, and it is also said that windows 10 will come out compatible and free for it. -
This new version far surpasses the power of its predecessor. It is on par with other boards that have come out recently like the Odroid C1 which is priced similarly.
Oddly enough, the old version will continue to be sold at the same price, reportedly for industrial consumers who always find it harder to change.
-
It was about time they updated, it looks good.
-
Eventually I'll cave in and buy one ;D
-
Oh well, and I have the previous model since just over 1 month. What bad luck. -
Apart from the power improvements, Windows 10 is going to give it a massive boost, at least for the average user.

Apart from the power improvements, Windows 10 is going to give it a huge boost, at least for the most normal user.
As far as I understand, the edition of Windows it will come with will be a special lightweight one without a desktop focused on the Internet of Things.
