Ah haha, the truth is that Orange is putting out a crappy mobile with their brand and they sell them to you as if it were the best thing... So I don't keep track of the junk they bottle. Xiaomi is a brand that puts the latest and most powerful in their mobiles, it has nothing to do with "white label".

My partner has got the ZTE that Jazztel "gives away" and the truth is that it's pretty crappy (especially the screen and the camera), but at least now it has plenty of internal memory (4GB), not like the Galaxy Ace where nothing would fit at all. Although, having been used to the S4 for a year, I immediately find some phones to be pretty crappy... -

Not even joking, Samsung fail like a carnival shotgun and LG I don't know but they had the same problem, and I'm not referring to the low range talking about the high. For reliable I would say Motorola, HTC, Sony created that has improved that before it was also a mess. Samsung lately is scaring me, I don't plan to buy ANYTHING from Samsung, I'm tired of so much crap that they sell as if it were the milk, thank goodness that their SAT works otherwise...

I personally recommend Chinese mobiles, but only the KNOWN Chinese mobiles, such as now: Xiaomi, oppo, one plus one, dogee…
The others always come up with something bad even if on the web you "read" everything perfect
My father has a dogee and it works perfectly, if you are going to buy a well-known mobile from Spain buy a Huawei I recommend them 100%

Error. All phones are rootable. Another thing is to unlock the bootloader or that they have not managed to get a system to root it safely.

Let's not forget that Android, iOS... are systems based on Unix or Linux if I remember correctly. Which are all rootable now it's normal for a Samsung with the sales it has. It falls into the hands of someone who understands the subject and roots it in a few days. On the other hand, cheap Chinese ones sell less and don't always fall into the hands of people with enough knowledge to do so.

I've been thinking for a few days about which smartphone to buy and I'm undecided between the Motorola Moto G and the Xiaomi Red Rice 1S which is a bit cheaper. After reading some reviews I think I'll go for the Motorola even though it costs 20 or 30€ more and has some worse hardware.
What I see with Chinese mobiles is that they skimp on certain things that are not very showy and they go all out on the more showy ones like the camera pixels or the processor frequency. In return I get a design with which the mobile is bigger with a smaller screen and a worse quality battery (parameters that people don't focus on).
And, call me paranoid, but I don't trust a heavily customized Android coming from a country like China.

Hello cobito, between those two I also opted for the Moto G, besides the new one improves in several aspects including the camera, personally I think it's the best mid-range terminal at the moment and more so seeing that they have announced that the entire MOTO range will be updated to L, I like my xiaomi as a terminal but I wasn't convinced by its system customization, and I don't rule out the Chinese ones, I currently have a one plus one and I'm very happy with it but it goes beyond the price you have set.

I was in the same situation and I ordered a Xiaomi Red Rice 1S for a reason that for me is fundamental. The battery can be charged. I'm currently using a Motorola Defy with two batteries, when I travel, or if I'm going out and I have low battery, I change it. This made me not buy the Moto G which is a wonderful mobile, I've been able to try it because a friend has it and for what it costs personally I have a mobile that's more than enough, but I don't like the battery thing. I also didn't like the previous version of the Moto G that couldn't expand the memory.
It hasn't arrived yet as it will come from China :ugly: and I ordered it 3 weeks ago so it's almost here. And the price, on some websites it's below 110€, I think for the mobile it is, the price is very good, and it has some heating problem that today I read Xiaomi has released an update to prevent this.
And if the battery issue is not a problem for you, for about 200€ you can get the Xiaomi MI3 which was the previous top of the range, which in my opinion is a bit big, but it's a real cucumber :troll:, and only a few euros more expensive than the Moto G. It only has the battery problem and I think you can't expand the memory, but for the rest, the Moto G plays in a much lower league.
Whichever one you decide on, I think the three mobiles I mentioned are excellent. In my case, as I don't ask much from a mobile, just that it doesn't run slow like my current one, the Red Rice 1S is enough, the Moto G is very similar, and for me much prettier than the Xiaomi but that's a matter of taste, and the MI3 is simply brutal.

The Tecnho external battery is true but I don't like to use them. Manias; D besides, as I don't change my mobile phone much, I want to be able to change the battery that comes with the mobile if it starts to last less. When I go out, I carry the house keys, the wallet and the mobile, I don't want more stuff in my pockets.
If it arrives soon I'll tell you how it is <:( because at this pace it will take more than a month and in November I will be on holiday for 3 weeks and I won't take the mobile. I want to be disconnected from the world; D

After spending several days reading reviews, my head is about to explode.
Maybe you can guide me a little more. Right now I have a phone that can do nothing: it can make calls and send texts. The reason I need a smartphone is for WhatsApp, nothing else. I won't be running heavy applications or anything, just communicating.
I want it to have GPS (I think almost all have it) and a decent camera, but the latter only if it doesn't penalize the price too much.
I don't mind that the battery can't be changed but I do want it to last a long time. I also don't mind not having a microSD slot, but I do want at least 8 GB.
I have no idea what Android 5 will bring me, but for some strange reason that I can't explain, I want to have it.
I like the Moto G but today I discovered that there are actually two versions that are identical in everything except the screen and camera: the old one with a 4.5" screen and the new one with a 5" screen. I like the 5" screen, but according to what I've read, it penalizes autonomy by 25%, which seems excessive to me. On the other hand, the camera on the old one is terrible although the one on the G 2014 isn't much better.
What I also like about the Moto G is that Cyanogenmod maintains a ROM so that probably in the distant future I can update the system to a current one.
I also like the Xiaomi Red Rice 1S, but I don't like that the battery is a lithium polymer. I also don't like their custom Android and the fact that it's unknown if it will be updated to Android 5 (probably not) not to mention that I think Cyanogenmod doesn't maintain a ROM for this brand. But I do like its camera and of course its price.
I have a PC to do everything. I have a tablet to look things up. The phone is just for the street.
In principle my budget is around 150€, but it's very flexible as long as the extra cost makes sense.
I don't want to buy a potato of a phone and get an ulcer every time I have to use it. I also don't want to spend too much and feel pain every time I remember what I spent and how wasted it is.

Wait for them to come out with a lollipop from the factory and you save yourself headaches, 5" minimum and the rest to your liking, the 13mp sony camera that they usually mount doesn't cost much and takes some very good photos, 2gb of RAM are also important. The interesting thing about the redmi is that it's dual sim, the Motorola that you will have updates for much longer. I would look for a xiaomi mi3 that they are now liquidating since the 4 has come out and it's for 200€ and it's still a great phone.

The moto g and the second generation one, what changes is what you comment and if I'm not mistaken, the new one has HD resolution. A friend has the first one and he uses it a lot with WhatsApp and it lasts him about 15 hours, giving it a lot of use with messaging and social networks, if you're not going to install much, those 8gb are enough for you, you'll have about half of it free.
Another phone that might be of interest is the Sony Xperia m2, but seeing Sony's update history... It goes a bit back. I'm also one of those who looks for autonomy and after having batteries of 3000 3200 mah, I don't go below that and that way I last at least a day, but they all last the same so I would choose by other factors. -
So what I know about the Moto G is that there are 3 versions, someone tell me if I'm wrong, I'll talk about them and give you approximate prices from Amazon.
1st The version that could not expand the memory. The 8 Gigas left only 5 and something like that very little. Here you would be interested in the 16… but better to buy for something more the one they released in second place that is the same but with the possibility of expanding memory + 4G. 149€ the one with 8 Gigas... the one with 16 is worth more than 180-190
2nd They released the same, but 4G and you could expand the memory with a card up to 32 Gigas. For me this is the best for size and performance. 182€
3rd They released the 5" which is like the 2nd but... I think it doesn't have 4G. The resolution is maintained, and having a larger screen consumes more. 175€ You can also expand the memory. (Note that it has 5" but the same resolution as the 4.5") That is, it basically stretches the screen a little :ugly:
Of the 3 I would stay with the 2nd because it has a screen of a "moderate" size 4.5 because it expands the memory and because it has 4G.
Of Xiaomi I don't have it yet but I can tell you that it has a good community behind it, but if you care about it being updated, and you like Android almost pure (I don't know if Motorola puts crap in the mobile to be honest) then the Moto G is your mobile. It's the closest thing to a Nexus but cheaper and less powerful that you can buy in terms of sensations.
For me it doesn't matter that it's updated, I've been with Android 2.3 for almost 3 years and I only use the mobile for Whatsapp, some calls and at most read the mail or take a crappy photo to share on Whatsapp so in my case I prefer the Xiaomi because it came out cheaper than the Moto G and for the battery issue.
I ignore the battery composition, but when it comes I'll lower the speed to micro so it consumes less, I don't care if it goes slower and this way I'll increase something the autonomy.
The Moto G my friend's battery lasts almost two days without giving it much power to be honest, that will depend on your use but if you don't play or do intensive use you'll reach the night with more than enough charge in the mobile.
THE Moto G I think is your mobile, the GPS and all those little things work well. The only thing is that the camera is not a marvel, but for single photos it's not that bad. I'm not going to spend more on a mobile to have a better camera for photos, for that I use the Reflex :ugly: no matter how good a camera a mobile has it can't be compared to a Reflex unless the light conditions are very good in which case the mobile photos don't detract too much.

PD 2: Bm4n comments on the Xiaomi RedMi Note, but it has 5.5" for me that's very big, but 5" already seems big to me and in fact the Red Rice 1s The case has already arrived and it seems big to me... so it depends on your needs. I've been almost 3 years with a motorola with a 3.7 screen and happy because it was small and when I went running I carried it in my hand, but if you use the mobile a lot for gaming etc... 5" can be good for you. The Xiaomi RedMi Note the only thing is that it has 2 Gigas of Ram and facing the future it will take longer to become obsolete, but the Moto G runs very smoothly with only 1 Giga of RAM and has a good life expectancy for the future.
In my case 4.3 inches or at most 4.5 seem good to me, I don't need more. I would have loved the Red Rice to be smaller ¬¬
THE Moto G I've had in my hand and it seems to me that for 4.5" it's very well sized, it doesn't seem huge, but keep in mind that the "buttons" that other mobiles have in the casing under the glass, the Moto G has them inside the screen...

Well, I thought the new Moto G didn't have 4G, but apparently it does come with it as standard (it's really not well implemented, but better to have it just in case).
The only thing is that they could have called it Moto G 2, or something else, since they confuse people.
