RTX 2070 or GTX 1080?

Hello fellow users!!
As I explained in another post, my previous GTX980ti died a while ago and until then I was using a GTX970 and now it's time to change it.
Due to other issues I have a "check" of 530€ to spend on a graphics card, so I'm interested in not buying the cheapest one and not spending more unless it's very, very profitable. My main options are:
- A GOOD 1080, for example EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 8GB GDDR5X
- A 2070 basic but with good cooler, like the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 WindForce 8G 8GB GDDR6
For the 2070 I would have to wait a couple more weeks as it's not available anywhere yet, although this is not a problem for me, but because of this I can't see almost any REVIEWS or anything.
The use, obviously, will be for gaming, alternating between a 1080@144hz monitor and a 4K@60hz TV.
What would you do? The purchase does not have to be at pccompontentes, coolmod, xtremmedia, etc... other options are also fine!
Best regards!

In terms of performance, I would say that the 2070 is around 5% above the 1080 (with current drivers), so really unless you want to play titles (yet to be released) that use raytracing, the decision is more about the overclocking capability and cooling they have. Perhaps another point in favor of the 2070 is that it may have better resale value if you decide to trade it in.

I've been investigating a bit more and the difference compared to the 1080 depends on the DX used, in DX11 it's about 5%, in DX12 it's about 15-20%, I base this on this review, although they use a custom one that comes with a bit of OC as standard:https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_rtx_2070_armor_8g_review,19.html

A 20% is a different story, although I think the list of games with real DX12 support is rather short but I imagine more will come out over time...

Well, I finally ordered the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Windforce 8GB GDDR6 at coolmod for 529€
