Advice for a switch
-
Hello as you may have seen in the other thread of complete configurations, I get that equipment at the end of the month. The technicians have already installed (well they have pierced walls and passed ethernet cable that I had, otherwise they would not have done it and I will not mention the company) the wiring. Logically since I will have the two servers on the table that I have in the room next to the laptop, while I am with chess I will connect the three computers by cable. The two servers and the laptop. Any advice on a switch that is adapted to what I have and with a sustained price?
I am not an expert in networks, well in anything, I am just learning everything I can. Thanks in advance, comrades.PD: reviewed from Word, to avoid spelling mistakes

@jordiqui My advice is a "dumb" switch, not managed, preferably metal if you can afford it.

@kynes Thanks. That's what we'll do. Best regards!

@jordiqui I'm not a networking expert either, but when I set up the NAS, I bought a gigabit switch that is metallic as @kynes mentions. It's a TP-Link TL-SG108S. It has 8 ports and has been running non-stop for over a year and a half, providing, among other things, service to Hardlimit.
I don't remember how much it cost me, but I see that now it's at about 30€. I don't know how the market is, but it seems to me a more than reasonable price.
The only bad thing is that the power supply is on one side and the RJ-45 connectors are on the other. If you want to hide the cables, you'll have a bit of a hard time.

@cobito Bought as new from a second-hand store, plug and play. Plug in, put cables and we already have everything up and running. By the way it's from that brand, it didn't reach twelve euros metallic with five 1000mbs ports.
