Ray Liotta, star of 'One of Our Own', dies.

Ray Liotta, the actor known for his roles in "One of Us" or "Narc", has died at the age of 67. According to 'Deadline', Liotta died in his sleep while he was in the Dominican Republic to film 'Dangerous Waters', his new movie. According to local media, the actor's death occurred in a hotel in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. He will always be remembered for his dark characters and his roles as a villain or mafia, but also for having one of the most recognizable looks in cinema. Born in New Jersey in 1954, Liotta leaves behind an extensive filmography marked by titles as well-known as 'Goodfellas' or 'Unlawful entry'. Liotta rose to fame for 'Something wild', the famous film by Jonathan Demme in which he plays a jealous ex-husband who pursues his ex-wife Melanie Griffith, to the surprise and fear of a dazzled Jeff Daniels. That film gave him critical acclaim, which he had again in many other moments of his career although it was not always reflected in awards. Nominated several times for film awards, he did obtain the most prestigious one in television, the Emmy, for a small role in the series 'ER'. The most important role of his career was possibly that of Henry Hill, the protagonist of 'Goodfellas', the film directed by Martin Scorsese in 1990 and in which he shared the poster with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and John Sorvino, among others. "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster". With that phrase of his character began 'Goodfellas', but it also serves to label a career in which the actor with the disturbing look of blue eyes interpreted multiple dark, evil or corrupt characters. According to American media, Liotta was in the Dominican Republic participating in another shoot, that of 'Dangerous Waters'. In the last three years he had not stopped working. As a sweet and very beloved person have already defined him some colleagues like Lorraine Braco or Jamie Lee Curtis. A profile far from the one that defined him in fiction, as one of the best-known villains of the last decades. And with a disturbing look difficult to forget. I remember a film of his "cutrecilla" that I really liked as a teenager, Escape de Absolom. Fortunately, he had a peaceful death, doing what he liked and without suffering. I wish we all had that luck.

Oh! it's that one that always comes to mind when I remember Ray Liotta. It's a bit of a bad one, the critics give it a lot of flak, but I remember seeing it in the cinema in 1994 xD

Well yes, the thing is that it always impresses when someone "young" dies, because nowadays 67 can't be considered old for anyone, especially how bad it will be for his daughter (who is 23-24 years old) but anyway RIP.

I think it was fair in the one I saw him in for the first time, but it was on TV, not in the cinema.

With his death, the death of Vangelis, the retirement of Bruce Willis and the retirement of Jim Carrey, it seems that this year the disappearance of a generation of cinema has accelerated.

Don't mess with me, he's retiring, I hadn't heard about it. What a year.

Vangelis' death has also been a hard blow, I'm one of those geeks who likes that kind of music, I remember watching an episode of stranger things and recognizing one of his songs, and being happy.

These posts make me realize that we're getting old.
