RMA Corsair
-
Well, I am processing the RMA for the side panel of my Corsair iCUE 5000X case.
It literally blew my hands off when I took it out to add an additional support for the GPU.
At first, they didn't have a problem, they just asked for the part number and some basic information.
I'll keep you updated. -
@clipper Has the glass shattered?
-
@defaultuser
If.
The tower will be a little over a year old.
I have opened it about 4/5 times to assemble it anew and change some components.
Yesterday, as I was off sick (flu), I took the opportunity to open it and assemble the GPU support.
And when I took off the side panel, it literally exploded when I took it off.
When I already had it in my hands.
I read something about the 4000 series having a similar problem.
But I thought it would be due to misuse.
Which has not been my case.Amazon told me that they can't do anything except pass me the corsair link.
Corsair told me to give them the tower's reference number, my details, and they will send me a new side panel.
I will comment on how it ends.
In any case, I have considered whether it is worth mounting laminated glass, given the result of the tempered glass...
Cuts on the fingers of my hands and on one foot. -
@clipper After a year, I don't think they are up for making a change to the tower. I understand that the glass must be for visual effects, because for thermal effects, there is no improvement compared to one without glass. I'm old, sorry about them not being up for it. On the other hand, I imagine there are high-end towers without glass or anything like that. Those surely don't have that problem. In any case, I hope you can solve it, as I think you yourself have answered the solution.

Well, if that's what it takes to get laminated, you've really messed up.
To me that can only be thermal stress, initially because of the hot strip that the graphics card produces, but it really does surprise me.

Well, that would be ideal. Where do you get it? Do you cut it from a vehicle's glass, or do you order it directly? Because there are no towers with that, right?
-
@defaultuser if the RMA goes wrong I will order it from the glazier who supplies us at work, I don't think it will be difficult or expensive, after all they are two 2mm glued glasses.
And he also works with tempered glass, but seeing what I've seen I don't know.

@jordiqui.
Obviously, glass has little effect on cooling compared to aluminum.
The Corsair iCUE 5000 series only comes in two finishes: tempered glass or aluminum with a grille, and the grille is quite ugly. Plus, it blocks airflow (which is what I care about most)
And the aesthetics...
Now that my boss has bought a laser cutter
I have to make something nice.
Unfortunately, it can only cut acrylic, wood, and synthetic materials, not metal, but I think it can engrave.

Well today I received the glass panel, perfectly packaged a 100% by Corsair.
To be honest I hope I don't have any more problems, but I'm calm because half of the PC is from this brand.
Tower, PSU, RAM and cables and keyboard.
Now I regret not having bought the mouse and the m2 from this brand either, but I don't think I'll have any problems with Logitech or Crucial either.
Regards
P.D. I'll upload photos with the PC, I have no idea with the mobile.
