Virtual machine configuration

Hello, I'm going to build a PC, what configuration do you recommend for handling an OS and a virtual machine simultaneously, I would always have them open (Linux and Windows, which would you put as the main one and which as a virtual machine?)

@xerox About virtual machines, it depends on how much and for what you are going to use each operating system. The easiest option is Virtualbox which is FOSS and is multiplatform.

It's for a person who wants to install Linux on the hard drive as the main operating system of the computer at home

And from Linux install virtual box and use Windows when needed as a virtual machine (unless you think it's better the other way around, running Linux in a virtual machine from a Windows installed as the main one)

And all this with the minimum economic cost within the needs, and with the main doubt of whether an external graphics card or an integrated one in the processor is worth it

@xerox Well, if you want something like that, at the lowest possible price, it's not to overlook that the HP proliant dl360p gen 8 with two e5 2697 v2 processors, a 512 gb ssd and 64 ddr3 ecc can cost you 400 euros if you look on ebay second hand. Even for 400 euros you can find the generation 9. And it has a pci express adapter for graphics, because if you want to edit the one that is integrated these servers would be short, in my opinion. That said, they are a huge mess and make noise. In my case, to find something second hand that performs like these things, I haven't seen anything that isn't for more than 1000 euros. To finish, you can put a pci ssd in the adapter for the system and use the sata ssd for data.

To have 1 virtualized operating system you don't need absolutely anything.

The recommended host operating system for an amateur is the one they master best.

This is easy, the typical ambiguous clarification of someone who is at the "beginner" level.
An enthusiast or a professional have a rough idea of how their equipment performs with the tasks they do, however for me, the one who gives vague explanations needs a PC to "start"
Later on, when they weigh up changing to better hardware, they will evaluate for themselves how "sweet" they want it to be.

If on the other hand the user can specify what kind of editing they do and with what software, then we have a starting point.
