Hardlimit Banner in App: Broadcast of Tournaments Between Elite UCI Chess Engines

@cobito said in Hardlimit banner in tournament broadcast app between elite UCI chess engines:
@jordiqui That's up to you. I think the simplest approach is to place it inside a simple div. Something like this:
<div class=logo><img src="https://hardlimit.com/logo.png" alt="Hardlimit's logo"></div>Or alternatively, embedding the image directly into the HTML using base64:
<div class=logo><img src="data:image/png;base64, [...]==" alt="Hardlimit's logo" /></div>It seems the simplest to me, and you can always style it using CSS.
Perfect, I'll get on it. Let's see how it turns out.

Well, for now I've added a top bar because my idea was to layout it in a vertical box within the design, but I'll need to make more code changes and that's where I'll definitely need GPT. I'll get down to it properly on Monday. It currently has a nofollow link to the forum, but once it goes into production mode—which is when we'll see high traffic spikes—then if, for SEO reasons, a dofollow link is a backlink you consider appropriate, I'll change it. Best regards, and thanks for guiding me, as I was already feeling a bit lost. -
@jordiqui Here's the dark theme logo: it will look better than the official one: https://hardlimit.com/logo_tema_oscuro.png
And I'll try to push the English forum a bit.

Hello everyone, I hope you like how the design finally turned out, even though there are still a few details to polish with the chosen fonts and typography, but the hard part has been fighting to get the transparencies and a fairly consistent layout. DOM, HTML, CSS, JavaScript... all of this is new to me, but after wrestling with GPT, it finally did what I wanted, not without devouring the official MDN documentation, guides, etc.
Now comes the important question: right now, with all anti-bot filters, rules, etc. activated on Cloudflare, we're getting around 1000k, 1200k daily with an upward trend, without doing anything more than posting every two days on a chess forum. One of the subdomains is this: https://elite.ijccrl.com/ and regarding the Hardlimit logo, since it doesn't have a header, it would be more of an app-like layout than a broadcast one, so placing it at the top of the chat, which would stand out a lot given its own identity, but I'm open to your suggestions. @cobito the chat won't change in color or size. I'm not sure if the logo you sent me fits well, but when you have time, let me know which one you think would work better and I'll link it to the English page. Although we have traffic from half of Europe, Mexico, and many Americans. Cheers, everyone. -
Hi @jordiqui. No, it won't fit with that background.
A couple of things: I notice the background changes depending on the window size: sometimes it's an image (large window) and other times a solid color (small window), where part of the left board also disappears:

The mobile version doesn't seem to work well: there are some weird issues with the board sizes.
Also, if the window is very large (in my case, maximized at 4K with 150% scaling), the two boards on the right overlap and get cut off:

Regarding the logo, the background is important: do you want to place it on the chat's black background, or directly over the chat area, whose background could be either a texture or a solid color depending on the window size?

Hi, I think the mobile version should work fine now. I reviewed the code and set a single authority for mobile, and it looks good on Android Chrome. Regarding the logo, we have both URLs fixed, and looking at the current traffic after several weeks with five rules applied in Cloudflare, there's no noise and we're averaging 1.2k daily. I think it's time to figure out how to place it and make the Hardlimit logo look good. 1. https://ijccrl-live.ijccrl.com/ 2. https://elite.ijccrl.com/ because it's worth it and I can't think of anything else but Hardlimit. What I'm not sure about is whether to put it in the chat header or as a side widget on the left. But the widget idea doesn't convince me because we'd have to tweak the current 2x2+1 layout, and I'd end up fighting with GPT, since I don't have visual HTML editing tools at my disposal.

Hi @jordiqui. No, it won't fit with that background.
A couple of minor things: I notice the background changes depending on the window size: sometimes it's an image (large window) and other times a flat color (small window), where part of the left board also disappears:

I see that the mobile version doesn't work well: strange things happen with the board sizes.
And if the window is very large (in my case, maximized to 4K with 150% scaling), the two boards on the right overlap and get cut off:

From a logo standpoint, the background matters: do you want to place it over the chat's black background, or directly on top of the chat, whose background could be a texture or a solid color depending on the window size?
This screenshot is because there were several authorities and fossils in the code. Cleanup was done, and it no longer loads a paint with another color. I've just checked again from my mobile (Android, I haven't been able to verify Apple's Safari) and it adapts well, although you have to scroll a lot because it's not a specific mobile version, but rather we make the index.html adapt. I've added the logo, but I need to improve the image's visibility because it's very dark and the chat background is black.

Hi @cobito, regarding this: do you want to place it on the black background of the chat or directly over the chat, whose background could be a texture or a solid color depending on the window size? The first option. It looks better on mobile, but as you say it doesn't fit well, so the point is that, for visual hierarchy, it needs to remain consistent and visible to users. Once you have it, send it over and I'll add it to the Asset folder and link it in the HTML code. That way I can add it to the other two URLs I have active. This month I have a VPS to gradually work on SEO positioning for the broadcasts. Best regards.

Hi @jordiqui. The simplest approach would be to place it on a solid color background, which in this case would be the chat's black background. As you have it now, it doesn't look too bad, but the corporate colors don't provide much contrast against dark backgrounds.
Here's a logo proposal adapted for dark backgrounds (layout similar to the test program's) where I've increased the size a bit within the chat:

@cobito DONE! We now have it visible in both tournaments. 1. https://elite.ijccrl.com/ 2. https://ijccrl-live.ijccrl.com/

@jordiqui Due to a hardware failure, the reply to this thread where you asked about the number of visits from ijccrl.com to check the impact of including a link to the forum has been lost. I replied yesterday that so far this year, there have been 7 or 8 referral visits, but due to bot scraping (which also resumed 10 days ago after a month-long break), it's impossible to get a clear picture from the statistics.

@cobito Thanks for the reply. Well, let's wait until we can get concrete numbers so we can draw conclusions. Without concrete data, we can't do that. But as mentioned, it's very little, so given what you're telling me, we'll have to wait. We'll continue as we are and evaluate based on real, verifiable data.
