Noctua NH-U14S was about time
-
I ordered it last week and today this piece of beast arrived which is really cool. The problem is that I haven't had time to start assembling it because I've been working with the team and well tomorrow I will put my results vs my current Thermalright XP-90C lapped and with a PWM controlled fan that can reach 4800rpm :ugly:
It arrived along with an Arctic Cooling Accelero L2 Plus for my FirePro v4900 :troll:
It's that between the two I have the constant feeling that the tower is about to take off... especially if I'm working.
The thing is that I'm still going with a Phenom II x4 @ 3.6ghz but that will be for a short time :troll:

Aaaahh cheater, what luck you have!
I've been dreaming for a couple of years of having enough money to buy an NH-D14

This summer with luck I'll get it, enjoy it!

Best regards

If you have a wide case and low profile memory, get an HR-02 on Amazon.
That update should be celebrated with 200MHz more in micro ;D
-
A good piece of equipment, yes sir. Perfect if you have memories "with a comb" and also it is not noisy for what it relieves the micro. It is an "all-terrain" of the dissipators.
And regarding the NH D14 that Sylver wants… what can I say, it is my little one. It is not a Phanteks but I love it just the same. :ugly:
Besides, I am seeing that they have raised the prices of the Noctua in two or three places... mine came out for 72 € and now it is at 83 €, it is noticeable that summer is approaching. -

Be careful because the same thing has happened with the memory, I remember buying my 8Gb at 40€ G.I. on Hard2Mano like new ones, when in the store they were worth about €50€, now they have skyrocketed to €70 new

I got mine for 60€ and the disipadpr on h2m for 50 GI, the Silver Arrow even got up to 60€ new. -

I've had an NH-D14 in the drawer for about a year now… xD I think I listed it for sale, I'm not sure if here or on h2m, and no one bought it. Now it's missing 2 of those rubber dampeners for the fan (on one side, you still have them on the other) and it only has the center fan, the other one I have on the Hydro
Without the fan and without the rubber bands, how much are you asking for?… it would be for my brother, as long as it has all the mounts.
The thing is, he had a "Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme Rev.C" which is a beast but it's flawed in that the mounts for AMD are a real piece of junk… consequently the motherboard would bend too much and depending on how I screwed it in, sometimes you'd be browsing and it would hang or it just wouldn't boot or the clamp would break and the board would go back to the previous BIOS :wall:

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1128-page7.html
In the end, the solution was to put the stock cooler on it and the Thermalright in the case… plus it has a corrosion problem because it was a Black Edition (black chrome) that over time and because of dust+humidity have caused part of the chrome to flake off, which makes it hard to sell (although if anyone is interested :fumeta:).
I'll put up some photos later, although I'm warning you that they might be disturbing to the viewer :ffu:
-
You put the photo, we can always have a laugh
-
As you can see, the side that was facing down is perfect, but the other side has the airflow mark not only on the fins but also on the tubes and everywhere where dust was deposited.
And this is after cleaning it a lot and sanding the edge to leave the heatsink half decent.
With all this, do you think anyone would buy it?... it also doesn't have LGA115x and needs an adapter (Thermalright VX Bolt Through Kit II) that costs 12€ + shipping... that would make it compatible with all sockets.
-
Man, it's not pretty but when you remove paint the heat exchange is more effective with the material in the air, which the paint always insulates a little
The bad thing is the mounts. It will depend on the sockets that can be used without buying anything extra...

Man the black chrome is not as conductive as raw aluminum but well there is a lot of remilgado.

It supports with the mounts that come with Intel 1366 / 775 and AM2 / AM2+ / AM3... if not with the universal adapter it is compatible with all current Intel LGA 775/1156/1366/1155/2011/1150 and AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1/FM2 sockets
