ACER laptop with white screen
-
Hello everyone:
I have an Acer laptop that has started to turn its screen white. The thing is that it works if I put an external screen on it but with its screen it doesn't work.
After asking Mr. Google I changed the flex cable. With the confidence that it was going to work but the darn thing... it doesn't work.
Now the big question comes to me ¿do I put a new screen or not?. I've already looked at it and it costs around 50 euros but I'm in doubt whether to invest it so that later it tells me to eat the screen with tomato as it has done with the flex cable.
If you have read this far I thank you very much even if you don't answer me. Thank you for your time. -
Well, it's very simple, buy the screen and if it still doesn't work, sell it along with the rest of the computer parts on eBay... that's it, because they won't pay you almost anything for a computer that doesn't work and you'll get more money from selling individual parts... in fact, people who buy broken laptops make money from it because it's also true that it's more of a hassle and slower to sell dismantled components.
Another option is to look for a second-hand motherboard, but that already depends on your budget and the luck you have.

Indeed, buying the screen is much more cost-effective in your case.
First, because you have verified that it is not a problem with the motherboard: with an external monitor it works correctly.
Having also ruled out the cable (which would be very unusual for both to be faulty or the connector to be broken, something rare but within the realm of possibility), it leaves us with the conclusion that the butler was the culprit.

To be honest, I hadn't thought of it that way, trying to sell the PC if it doesn't work, thanks for the idea.

:ugly:That is my big concern that it is due to some component of the motherboard. I was not so sure about the fact that if it is seen on an external screen it clearly implies that it is not a problem with the motherboard and it could be totally ruled out.
The truth is that the screen turns on but stays completely blank. I will see how much I can get the screen for.
Thanks for the help.
