Hello, the kings are coming and my brother is going to take his things, this year he has behaved well bla bla bla...
Well, the thing is that I have parts that I am going to use and I am going to build a PC for him to retire my old Athlon 1200 mhz Thunderbird that he inherited from me, diosssss my first serious processor, a real toaster, but it's still there, working as it can xD
That being said, it is evident that it is going to be a basic team, surf the internet, listen/record music, downloads, watch movies and at most play a game of chess if he lends himself.
I have:
Core Duo E4300
4 gb DDR3 Kingston 1333
Maxtor 320 Gb hard drive (In the end I will also give him a 500 that I have mounted but it's not important)
F.A. Nox 500WAs for the motherboard I have thought about putting an Asrock G41C-GS, so I can use the processor and memory and avoid putting a graphics card that he won't use for anything.
Now the doubt I have is about the case and I know that he would like a small and sturdy case, I have seen some with included power supply like the B-Move Trim MicroATX 450W or a HIDITEC SLIM10 NEGRA FTE 450W USB 3.0 and so several, but perhaps the latter is the one that convinces me the most (not so much its price).
The thing is that having an available power supply and not having the habit of assembling such "small" equipment makes me hesitate to get a case like this, considering that for little more than 20€ on pccomponentes I can already get ATX cases that are great.I don't know, let's see if you can give me some opinion, I suppose that some of you will have or have assembled this type of equipment... if not, I must be writing in another forum
Regards.
PD: Yes, I am a bastard, I almost only write to ask for things, before going to bed I will give myself a hundred lashes if that :ugly:

For a PC like mine, I like this case Fractal Design Core 1000 Negra FD-CA-CORE-1000-BL Case/Tower, I've seen some and I've been able to try them and I like them, the ones you mention I've had the misfortune of dealing with the b-move XD and the other one I don't know. -
man this one would be good, Cooler Master CMP-350 500W
regards
-
Thanks!
In the end I got a tacens noa, cheap but enough to fulfill its purpose.
It has a 12cm fan in the front, a 9cm rear fan and a 14cm side fan.
Also, if you want to put a graphics card later, the case is loose, but I doubt that will be the case.

Kaaawweeeennnnntoooooo!!!!!
I needed to vent…
I already have everything ready to build, but of course, I'm missing a small, sticky thing...thermal paste!!!!
I don't even have any of the "bad" kind xDI just had dinner and was thinking that I had 1 or 2 hours left to build the computer for my brother, with the kids asleep, my partner doing her own thing, in short, a good relaxation plan for a Friday night...if it weren't for that tiny detail!
And of course, for the times I now build PCs, I like to do it well and with care, nothing sloppy like when I was a kid.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll go get some "cream" and that's it.
The case looks good, I'll eventually replace my equipment with a microatx ?
I'll let you know how it goes.
Regards. -
Man, if you do the "thermal toothpaste" trick in a tiny, tiny amount... we won't say anything, and at least you try it today, tomorrow you'll buy the good toothpaste... :ugly:
Nah, it's better to do it right from the beginning, I'm with you... The thermal toothpaste thing is a pain :wall:
Regards
-
Haha toothpaste!!!
If the main issue is the heatsink, I once assembled everything and left the micro and the heatsink for last, then it turned out that the tabs (the ones that go into the 4 holes of the board) didn't fit well and I had to disassemble everything to access the back of the board and make the job easier
Nah, there's no rush as it's for Christmas, but I already had a plan and now it's time for a movie, I have "The Bourne Legacy" on hold here, or maybe I'll waste time watching nonsense on youtube :alone:
Regards. -
Na, that there's no rush that it's for Reyes, but I already had a plan and now it's time for a movie, I have "The Bourne Legacy" here to watch, or maybe I'll waste time watching nonsense on youtube :alone:
Regards.Jajajaja +1, besides it's true, it always happens… I have my average stuck at 2:00 AM... I can't watch the movie before that, I get tangled up looking for synopses, trailers, nonsense... How evil the internet is in innocent hands... :alone:
xD -

:ugly::ugly::ugly:

Well Gaiteiro, that's a rookie mistake, it usually only happens once, until you discover that the best and most comfortable thing to do is to mount the heatsink (especially if it's one of the big ones) outside and then mount the board in the case.
Best regards

Well, you're lucky... I've had 4 or 5 sleepless nights for weeks now u.U my schedule is totally messed up.
about the thermal paste, you're not the only one it happened to, it happened to me when I brought my PC here, I removed the RL and was all happy with everything, I got ready to assemble and... ***** the thermal paste. I bought it in the afternoon, got ready to assemble and... ***** the heatsink bracket... Where is it... I also didn't have the fan brackets for the heatsink... in the end I did a "quick fix" by bending some clips for the fans and then for the heatsink I used other improvised brackets... :ugly::ugly::ugly:
Haha it happens to me every now and then too, but at least at 2 am at the earliest... xD
And when it comes to improvisations you're just like me... here we are, making do with what we have, making flexos with cardboard, brackets with clips, case fronts with cardboard, thermal toothpaste... Up yours for the quick fixes! :ugly:
-
Jajaja I also have that from time to time, but at least at 2 am at the earliest... xD
And about improvisations you are like me... here we are making do with what we have, making flexes with cardboard, clips for fasteners, tower fronts with cardboard, thermal toothpaste... A thumbs up for the improvisations! :ugly:
If improvisation is the thing NEW HTPC Exteme. - HardLimit
my philosophy is, If you can't fix it with duct tape, you just need more duct tape!

You'll tell me... Testing the ingenuity is so much fun... :ugly:

Ya me dirás… Poner a prueba el ingenio es tan divertido... :ugly:
Pero que bestia eres …...
Cómo eso se suelte metes las tijeras para sacarlo

Scissors? That's for the weak, man! You unplug it from the wall and pull it out with your hand, body and all, without removing the weights! :ugly: :ugly: :ugly: :ugly: :ugly:

iCP is called ICP you are capable of having "plumbs" with thread ….
I haven't reached that point because I haven't touched the plumbs, but if something ever gets messed up, get ready for what the repair will be like… :ugly:
