Hello, I hope you can help me choose a good configuration for my new PC.

      The components are:

      - Intel i3-3225 121e
      - Asrock B75M-ITX 75e
      - Cooler Master Elite 120 43e
      - Be-Quiet Pure Power L8 430W 57e
      - Kingston HyperX 1600 8GB 59e
      - Asus burner 19e
      - Western Digital HD 2TB 5400rpm 87e

      Total: 460 euros

The use that will be given to it will be 90% browsing + 10% movies; so it won't require much work.

The budget would be a maximum of 450 euros, if possible, reduce it as much as possible.

I want it to be quiet and small and of course I accept any changes, other platforms and any help.

      Regards!!

        Hello victorpexacos!

I recommend changing the 2Tb hard drive for a 1Tb one, preferably 7200rpm, you save money and I think it's better ?
Are you going to use the integrated one for movies? You're brave :troll: But anyway, it should be more than enough…
You can also cut back on RAM, for the use you're going to give it, you have extra gigs "for all intents and purposes", put 4Gb :sisi:
Lastly, that little font doesn't attract me too much, but it's not very bad and at least, it will last all its warranty years :ugly:

        I hope I helped you a little ?
        Best regards!

Silverstone 400W 5€ less and 4GB 25€ less. I think the Green 2TB one is good but, I would try to stretch and plug in an SSD, you have the 840 120 for 85 euros. At worst, you make a 100GB partition on the magnetic one and you already dump the image when you can afford the SSD.

Editing: OGT which is a 3225 with an HD 4000 :ugly:

The components would be like this:

            • Intel i3-3225 121e
            • Asrock B75M-ITX 75e
            • Cooler Master Elite 120 43e
            • Silverstone ST40F-ES - 400W 52e
            • Kingston 1600 4GB 28e
            • Asus burner 19e
              - Toshiba PA4292E-1HL0 73e or - Western Digital HD 2TB 5400rpm 87e

            Total: 411 euros Toshiba drive
            Total: 424 euros Western drive

What do you think about the Toshiba hard drive? Is the saving worth it?

            And an important question:

Do you think that if I change from mini-ITX to micro-ATX or even ATX, the quality of the components and the overall set will be improved and even the price would be lower?

I think that since I don't use a graphics card, the difference in performance won't be noticeable, although I suppose that motherboards of other formats have components of higher quality and better chipset for the same price or even lower.

I look forward to your opinion.

            Regards!!

EDIT: I mainly chose this processor because it has the HD 4000, since Intel graphics work quite well on Linux. Initially, I wanted to buy the AMD FM2 platform, but the APUs don't get along so well with Linux. Besides, in processing, Intels are usually superior and I won't be playing games with this PC.

Quality has nothing to do with it, quantity does: for example in the power phases, RAM slots, PCI ports, SATA, etc. The price is usually not higher, on the contrary, mATX are usually used as cut versions of their bigger sisters, mITX sometimes are a bit more expensive especially if they come with integrated wifi/bt. The chipset is independent, you will find mATX mITX with the most advanced chips like the Z77. Basically if you value space more than the expansion/connectivity capabilities of the board, buy an mITX.

PD. For silence (on this I have to disagree) SSD + HD type 24h/storage, no high performance disks, they get hotter, consume more and make more noise. And the CPU cooler, let's see how you go with the stock one for silence...

The fact is that the Green ones don't sound in rpm, but the head clicks from time to time, and they are clearly heard with the box closed... watch out for that. I'm just commenting from my experience, and don't think that my Green is broken, all the tests show it in good condition and I don't have any kind of performance loss. Regards

All disks make noise, the major noise comes from the movement of the heads (noise in operation, the standby noise is that of the motor), the heat from the speed of the platter motor (more speed, more friction, more heat). But there are differences between 28.1db in operation of a Western AV 2TB to the 33.4db of a Barracuda 14 2TB, they are 5.3db of difference that is noticeable, the best disks are the AV ones that are made to work 24h to heat up little and make little noise, the downside is that they are more expensive and perform little... Really the disks that make the least noise are the 2.5" ones, I have an external one for storage since the rest have SSDs and you can't practically hear them.

for spending money you have this: Seagate Barracuda 5.900 4TB SATA3 - 159 euros

                      4 Terabytes
                      Solid performance
                      Low cost
                      Silent operation
                      Low operating temperatures

The Seagate ST4000DM000 is a surprisingly fast mechanical drive, in fact those speeds of 140 MB/s are some of the best we have seen in solid state drives.
the performance that is maintained in HD video where the disk reads and writes information about 130MB/s and when we move to actual file transfers both smaller and larger copy operations, in a decent time.
