Hello, I recently bought the AMD 7990 HD but it's performing much worse than the GTX 560 (which is theoretically garbage in comparison). I have the drivers installed, I've tried it in many games and all of them are running at lower FPS.
Minecraft is only running at 50 FPS when with the other it was running up to 100. LoL is running at around 200 FPS (if it reaches), the other was reaching 250 perfectly. I'm very surprised since it's a very good graphics card and at least, I'm not asking to outperform the other if it's because of other components, but to match it.
      I have:
Graphics: AMD 7990 HD (from Shappire)
RAM: Kingston 32GB of RAM 1333MHz
      Motherboard: Gigabyte PH67A-D3-B3
      Processor: Intel i7 2600k overclocked to 3.8GHz

And the power supply I don't know the wattage, but as far as I know it's providing the power it needs, it must be 900-1000W. It's a Cougar CMX.

I don't know if it's something wrong with the BIOS, if it's the drivers, if it's the Windows 8.1 or what it is, but please, I need help

Is it a clean installation? If not, format it. Changing drivers sometimes sucks.

        Best regards

Choosing a dual for the games you mention is a bad decision, they are simple graphics and if there isn't a good crosfire profile, they will run worse than a monogpu, it would happen the same with an SLI if the profile was bad, for those games you should go much better with a 7970 or 280x, 760.

I haven't played those games but I saw something through a video of their graphics and I bet that old graphics cards run better even if they give less fps, this graphics card should run much better in games with demanding graphics, it's just that Minecraft has very old graphics, I also don't know if it will run better on Nvidia or not, but this graphics card will stand out in games where it has a good CFx profile and has demanding graphics.

But a CF or an SLI will run at very low load with those graphics and that's why it ends up running bad, it's usually better to disable CF or SLI and play with just one.

          regards

Nope, it's Windows 8.1, I uninstalled the drivers for the other graphics card and put the ones for this one, if I can't find a solution I'll have to format it, I'll leave that as a last option... Thanks ?

Alright, do you know any way to configure it well so that it runs at a reasonable amount of FPSs?

Okay, do you know any way to configure it well so that it runs at a reasonable number of FPSs anyway?

I don't have AMD, I think if it could be deactivated for those games it would be much better, I have a dual Nvidia one 295 and you can deactivate SLI from the driver but I don't know if you can disable it on the 7990, let's see if someone who has it can answer you or if there's a better profile for CFx with the Radeon pro, but for those games your old 560 would be better for you, even an even older card would be better.

You should test the 7990 with demanding games like Crysis 3 or Metro LL, games with good graphics to see if it works well, to rule out if it works well.

I have Crysis 3, roughly how many FPS should I be at?
Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to graphics xD

Try like this reviews I don't have it but it should give you something similar, in that you can see the configuration and the resolution used.

                  Radeon HD 7990 6GB - Crysis 3 Performance | bit-tech.net

with that you can check if it works similar to them.

                  regards

                    1. The first thing you should do is uninstall the AMD drivers.
                    2. Download the driver function program.
                    3. Run the program in administrator mode (in Windows 8 you don't need to boot into safe mode, in W7 you do). On the screen that appears, point to where it says NVIDIA and AMD.
Click analyze and then select all the ones that come up from AMD and NVIDIA.
                    Click delete all and restart.
Download the latest drivers for the graphics card and install them and restart.
If this doesn't work for you, you'll have to format.
                    Regards and good luck.

                          It already works perfectly ?
I've tested the Tomb Raider 2013 and it heats up quite a bit.
One thing that worries me is that I've read that the limit is 75 degrees, but the graphics card can reach more. The fan goes up automatically but it doesn't seem enough; if I don't turn it up manually, sometimes it goes over 75. When I turn it up all the way, it goes down to 60 degrees. What should I do? Should I worry or let it go up on its own?

The limit isn't 75°C, the cooler it is the better, but that card can reach 95°C or more before the protection that processors usually have kicks in. Anyway, you could make a fan profile that speeds up the fan earlier, so it will heat up less. Here they explain how to use Afterburner and you can see how to make a fan profile, it's interesting to see how the card works.

                            [Guia] Msi Afterburner

But 75°C on a dual is a good temperature, you should try not to let it go up to 85 or 90°C.
