It's one thing that the Moto G 4G is an update of the previous model, adding 4G and microSD reader, and another to discuss its release date, which is June 2014 :troll:

Personally, I still say that for someone who buys thinking it will last a while, it's a good investment, because of the 4G and compatibility with the latest versions of Android.

When I bought it in August, the first thing it did as soon as it turned on was to update to KikKat (4.4), and now that the version Lolllipop (5.0) is out, it is one of the confirmed models that will have an official update from the manufacturer (Motorola).

For those who need a lot of power in the mobile, large screens, and change it in a short time, it is probably a better option a supercharged Chinese mobile, even if it doesn't have 4G.

      Salu2!

A very cool Xiaomi mobile for those who want a big screen for under 200€

XIAOMI Hongmi Note 4G LTE Snapdragon 400 1.6GHz 2GB 8GB Quad Core 5.5 Inch HD IPS Dual Cameras: Amazon.es: Electronics

Note, the previous version had a Mediatek processor but this one just came out, it's cheaper and has a Snapdragon 400 in addition to being 4G LTE and having 2 Gigas of Ram. In short, it's a very cool mobile for those who want big screens, 5.5" and with 2 Gigas of Ram, if you like to use many applications you will appreciate it.

I finally got myself the Moto G 4.5" without 4G. Maybe the 4G would have been a better option but I don't really think I'm going to use data intensively as to need high speed. In any case, time will tell what use I give it and if I've made the best choice. I'm going to find it hard to get rid of my old mobile with its autonomy of almost a week which, incidentally, has been the main reason why I've taken so long to have a smartphone.

But if you've got the one that doesn't have 4G you can't expand the memory either... that is, the one from 2013

If you've got the one with 8 Gigas I think there are 5.3 or so free left according to what I've read... I think that's very little memory for a current mobile

If you've got the one with 16 you'll have paid almost the same as the one that comes with 4G and you can expand the memory.

I don't know, unless you prefer to spend little (149 on Amazon) and you don't mind that increase between the 4G (which is 30€ more) and the other I don't see it as a good option. It's not about the 4G, above all for me it's the option of being able to put in a 32 Gigas SD...

Well yes, it's the 8 one :mudo:

To decide the size of the memory I have based on a precedent: my tablet. It has 4 Gb of which you can use just under 3 Gb. After 10 months of use, with all the apps I usually use installed (including some heavy games), multimedia content exchanged on Whatsapp, some downloads, etc., today I have around 500Mb free.

In reality the only thing I doubt is the 4G issue, because for memory I know I won't have problems.

The problem with mobiles (and everything) is that for a little more you have something more and for another little more something else more… Initially I was looking at the Moto E which for screen size is the one that feels most comfortable to carry in my pocket, but there yes, 4Gb seem like too few to me. For a little more I got one with 8Gb (I was undecided between the Red Rice 1S and the Moto G which in that aspect are the same) and with 8Gb I know I will have a mobile for a good season (if it lasts a couple of years I will consider that it has given me good service).

I could have gotten the 16 one, but instead of that, the 4G for the same price as you said. Then I would have started to think about the convenience of having 16Gb integrated along with 4G, because the cards are really a pain when it comes to putting certain applications for example. And then perhaps my curiosity would have been piqued by a 3000mAh battery to not miss the autonomy of my old mobile so much and, who knows, maybe even have a 1080p screen to have the highest pixel density possible or 2 Gb of RAM to not have problems with fluidity... :ugly:

I have decided to stop at the Moto G 2013 of 8 Gb.

It's a good phone and I know that in technology you can always buy something better for a little more. My observation is more about the memory than the 4G. I don't care about 4G because I only use the phone for whatsapp, and not much else, but from my experience the memory is like the hard drive of the computer. It always ends up filling up. In my case I carry music for when I go to the mountains or run and as it depends on my mood and energy the music I like... well in the end I carry a varied repertoire and from a 16 gig sd card I use I occupy more than half. And that's using the phone as a pendrive too :ugly:

If it suits you, then it's a good phone, but I'm just saying that the 8 Gigas are misleading, because free you have about 5 Gigas, so if you put in some APP, you'll go to 4 Gigas and little free or less. You have to assess if that is enough for you.

Best regards and you'll tell us about your experience. I was able to try it out a month ago and I found it to be a very good terminal and the photos weren't bad despite not being its camera's strong point. By the way there are super cool cases for the terminal ?

A Xiaomi mobile that is very cool for those who want a large screen for under 200€

XIAOMI Hongmi Note 4G LTE Snapdragon 400 1.6GHz 2GB 8GB Quad Core 5.5 Pulgada HD IPS Doble Cámaras: Amazon.es: Electrónica

Mind you, the previous version had a Mediatek processor but this one has just come out, it's cheaper and has a Snapdragon 400 in addition to being 4G LTE and having 2 Gigas of Ram. This Xiaomi is very good and even better with the change from Mediatek to a Snapdragon and having 2GB of memory and 4G. In other circumstances I wouldn't defend this brand, since without knowing it I would think it was just another "Chinese one" but thanks to a colleague having one and my curiosity seeing reviews about certain models, I've been able to get to know this company firsthand and I think they are very competent. MUI is quite optimized (another thing is the launcher issue, which you may or may not like), but it performs amazingly well and has a great movement in the updates issue.

The problem is that having to order the terminal from China, usually… and I understand that for many people it's a pain.

Cobito, you're right that we start adding options and we keep scaling up in prices and there comes a point where we go crazy xD but I think giving up those 8 GB (without being able to expand them) and 4G is a big gamble considering that in a short time it will be "short" for you. Note that I don't give much importance to 4G either, but I find the storage issue more problematic.

I hope you enjoy it to the fullest and really get the most out of it and good use as I'm doing with my "old" Xperia S xDDD

                  Best regards!!

Well, I already have the mobile phone working. The first impressions are good although the camera is average with little light (I expected that). For now, nothing to highlight; after almost a year accustomed to a tablet with 512Mb of RAM, the mobile phone is flying.

I was surprised by the GPS capacity: it locates me inside a floor (penthouse) with brutal precision.

The screen looks pretty good, the density of points seems to me very high compared to what I am used to.

I have been pushing it hard for 4 hours and already half the battery has melted. I was surprised that it does not freeze even doing several things in the background. It gives just over 18000 in Antutu, which is nothing special but for now I have noticed absolute ease. I suppose that in 3D it is a bit slow but it is something I do not plan to use.

About the memory, I hope not to have problems. For now I have already installed everything I need, I have imported my data from the tablet and I have 3.5 Gb free. Unless there is a last-minute change in habits, I do not think that free space will vary much.

If you want any proof, just say it.

To be honest, since you put the link, I've been looking for info about the terminal and I've loved it :troll::troll:
The only thing is that I see a lot of discussion about whether the model with the Mediatek is better, even though it's 3G, because they say that the version with the octacore is more powerful... but personally I'm more attracted to the Snapdragon.

It's tempting me a lot... although 5.5" seems a bit beastly to me... but well. I've seen it for about 159€, which is what still encourages me the most :ugly:
The 4G model already has the MIU version that starts from 4.4 Kitkat and the version of the 3G model currently has 4.2.

                      Regards!!

And since you're looking, you can include in the list of "indispensables" that we are starting to have 64-bit software with the arrival of Lollipop, although there is no difference in performance, for the moment.

Congratulations Cobito, very good purchase, enjoy it. Don't think it won't work well in 3D. You can't really put very demanding games at full power, but it helps that the screen resolution is "normal" and not high like the top models. Lower resolution, easier to move ;D

Neptune, the Red Rice is available with Mediatek and Qualcomm, and the 4-core performs better than the 8-core in this model, so I suppose it will be the same in the Note. Note that they first released the 8-core and then, for issues with updates and more power, the Qualcomm. At least in the Rice I know that the Qualcomm came to perform 20-25% better. I suppose it will be the same in the Note. They are basically the same phone (at the micro level) the Rice 1S and the Note.

Well, I'm actually more scared of companies like Sony, Samsung, etc. when it comes to updates, because I've been able to study a certain movement in the MIUI world and the great performance that the damn thing gives.
Plus, using Snapdragon it seems like it will be easier to get other types of ROMs, but focusing on their official part, I'm sure the 5.0 version will arrive because I'm seeing that almost all companies are doing a lot of marketing with this issue.
Of course, Motorolas and Nexus are 100% upgradable because Google gives them such direct support (normal, it's theirs xD).

I decided to buy a mobile phone, this post gave me the final push ;D In the end I ordered a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, for about 183€ (delivered at home)…when I have it I will tell you.

The truth is that it has a screen a little bigger than I would like, but as I use it a lot to watch videos and TV, I will appreciate it.
I am eager to tinker with MIUI, the V6 (based on Kit Kat) is near!!...

I must say that I was tempted by the Moto G2 and the BQ Aquiaris E5 FHD, but I leaned towards the Xiaomi :ugly:

I have already received the Red Rice 1S and I am delighted. The only problem is the battery life, it lasts me only one day without using it much. I lowered the processor frequency from 1600 to 1200… what a sad underclock for a mobile phone jajaja :osvaisacagar: but otherwise, I am delighted. Another problem is the 1GB of RAM, 2GB would be better, but that's what there is. For the rest, since I only use it for whatsapps and little more, I have more than enough. I think it cost me 129 on Amazon, I preferred it for warranty reasons, but there are imported ones from China for less than 110. I have been surprised by the quality of the camera, with good light it takes good photos. I don't ask for much since I am an amateur photographer and use Reflex, but a decent camera for occasional photos is appreciated. Neptuno, the phone you got is like mine but bigger and with double the RAM... besides, it came out just now, the previous one was a mediatek octacore, this one is better. For the price you bought it at, I think there is nothing like it on the market, especially because Xiaomi, with a contained price, is one of the best Chinese brands. The Moto G 5" is very good, but it only has 1GB of RAM, yours with 5.5" becomes somewhat big to be true, but if you are going to use it a lot for browsing, videos etc, it will end up hooking you. It is clear that it is not a Samsung Galaxy Note, but for less than 200€ it is a very good mobile phone.

For the rest, as I only use it for whatsapps and little more, I have more than enough. It cost me I think 129 on Amazon, I preferred it for warranty issues, but there are imported ones from China for less than 110. I have been surprised by the quality of the camera, with good light it takes good photos. I don't ask for much as I am a photography enthusiast and use Reflex, but a decent camera for occasional photos is appreciated.

Neptuno, the phone you got is like mine but bigger and with double the RAM... besides, it came out just recently, the previous one was a mediatek octacore, this one is better. For the price you bought it at, I think there is nothing like it on the market, especially because Xiaomi, while having a contained price, is one of the best Chinese brands. The Moto G of 5" is very good, but it only has 1GB of RAM, yours with 5.5" is a bit big to be honest, but if you are going to use it a lot for browsing, videos etc, it will end up hooking you. It's clear that it's not a Samsung Galaxy Note, but for less than 200€ it's a very good phone.

I'm glad you are happy, the truth is that it has a very good price and offers very good performance. Certainly you will see that MIUI runs very smoothly and is one of its strengths, in addition to a fairly well-known processor (you have set it to the frequency of the Moto G :-P). Aesthetically it is very sober, very square and it doesn't have backlit buttons on the front panel, but these are things that are forgiven for the price and performance.
In addition, Xiaomi is becoming a company of great reference in Europe, after having worked very hard in the Asian market, where it enjoys enormous fame.
We should put photos of our phones, eh? Jejeje. Anyway, you will tell us how the Moto G and the Red Rice 1S are going ?

                                  Regards!!

I bought it from the seller: Lumen 2014 on AMAZON and everything is perfect. I know that some seller has given "some surprise" by sending a fake phone, but there have been few cases, and if that happens, it is returned for free and you get another one or you change the seller.

Here is my seller: Xiaomi - Red Rice 1S Smartphone 8GB, 1GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad Core 1.6GHz Processor. 3G, WCDMA - European Band, 4.7" Screen with 1280x720 px Resolution. MIUI OS in Spanish, Dual SIM, Unlocked Phone, Grey. - Electronics - Amazon.es

The phone took about three weeks to arrive.

You can buy it for less than 110€ on other websites, but the Amazon guarantee has a price. In my case, I preferred to pay a little more.

The phone had heating problems in some units that Xiaomi has already fixed with new software, although I have not even installed it because I use the phone little and have not noticed it getting hot.

And for those who want something bigger, the Note that Neptuno bought with the Snapdragon 400 and 2 Gigas of RAM has an incredible look, and more for its price. My phone runs very smoothly, but I understand that if you use it a lot for games or heavy programs and want something better.

I think, as you rightly say, an update came out to fix that problem. However, I can comment that if I play or use the GPS on my Xperia S, its processor (Snapdragon) heats up quite a bit... I don't give much importance to that detail, to be honest.
I find it more annoying when some Mediatek don't work very well with the GPS and don't give you a more or less exact location, which is what I have read quite frequently on certain phone web sites.

                                        Greetings!!

I also bought a Xiaomi Redmi 1S in June or so.

It cost me €108 bought at the store PRCFROG.com through a group purchase on htcmania.

To be honest, for now I consider that the quality/price ratio is very good and I would buy another one.

The cons I find are these:

                                          • The battery lasts little. With normal/intensive use it lasts 1 day just. If you don't use it much you can be 1 and a half days quietly.
                                          • The "back", "home", "tools" buttons are not illuminated
                                          • The multitasking is a bit green due to poor memory management. You can open an application and press the home button to not close it and open another. When you return to the one you had left in the background it has to restart it (not always).
                                          • You can't put the mass storage mode (use it as a normal pendrive). You can only connect it to the PC via MTP, there is not much problem in PCs, but I ran out of the deal of watching movies on TV by connecting the mobile to USB.

                                          The good things:

                                          • The screen has an excellent touch and good image quality
                                          • 8MPixel camera with decent photos and records FullHD video
                                          • The wifi has very good coverage
                                          • MicroSD memory card
                                          • It comes with utilities as standard, perfectly integrated with the OS such as: record conversation, black list of numbers, "do not disturb" mode (very configurable), …
                                          • In general it moves very smoothly, without getting stuck between applications or in the launcher.

If there is any more question, ask! ?

                                          Regards!

Yesterday I received the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, after 2 weeks of waiting I finally have it with me. I am very surprised with the fluidity of MIUI (4.4.2), the touch of the screen and how well it looks. The "back", "home", "tools" buttons light up, to my surprise and the battery seems to last a long time since in the first 24 hours I had spent 52% of it (all this taking into account its initial intensive use ¬¬).

The worst thing is the weight and how big it is, that is something indisputable. However, the issue of weight does not seem flagrant to me either since I have had the Redmi Note and the Redmi 1S in my hand at the same time, personally I did not notice a big difference in weight :troll:

Anyway, let's see how it behaves!!;D
