Hello,
Well, that's it, I don't quite understand what's happening to the hard drive of 1TB (Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB SATA3)
Sometimes it randomly disconnects without warning… This happens when I download, install a program or game. Then it disconnects and disappears from Windows Explorer. It gets fixed by restarting the computer.
Look at this, it's my hard drive:

My PC (I'm including it just in case):
-i5 2500K 3.30GHz
-Cooler Master V8
-P67 Pro3 B3
-R9 280X Vapor-X Tri-X STD 3GB GDDR5
-G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 1600MHz 2x4GB CL9
-Cooler Master G750M 750W 80+ Bronze
-Asus Xonar Dg Pci 5.1
-Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB
-1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA3
-Zalman Z11 Plus
I bought the graphics card, the SSD along with the power supply almost 1 month ago.I read on the web that this could be a problem with the power supply. That is, the hard drive receives little current and that's why it disconnects by itself.:wall:
Seriously, if it's a problem with the power supply, I'll jump off the seventh floor xD (just kidding).Anyway, I'm interested in what you guys, who know more than me, have to say.
Thanks and best regards.

If you download the SeaTools, it can tell you if there is a firmware update for that model.

Hello,
Thanks for the tool.
Look, as I understand it, there is no firmware for the specific model:

:wall: xD

Since it doesn't seem to be a known issue that is resolved with new firmware, check the power saving options in Windows, and if it's still the same, try changing the HDD SATA connector, or controller, if your motherboard has two.

And if everything fails, start thinking it might be the famous SATA bug of the H67/P67

I've looked and tested (changing the SATA connector of the HDD), that is, what you told me and…, nothing, absolutely nothing. It's still the same.
By the way, the SSD along with the HDD, are working in AHCI mode. I don't know, I think it's the "AHCI mode" fault, because BEFORE, when I didn't have the SSD and only the HDD in IDE mode, this "phenomenon" with the hard drive had never happened to me NEVER!
Yesterday I was testing something:
-I started downloading BF3 + all its expansions on the HDD, and at the same time, I ran Far Cry 3 from the HDD and NOTHING, everything perfect! My HDD didn't disconnect or anything like that.
But when today I run Far Cry 3, in 30 minutes, the HDD disconnects :ffu:
This crap has no explanation… Or it's simply a "SATA bug of the H67/P67", as you've mentioned.
After all, I don't know for sure, what the hell is going on.
"Really, the more power a computer has, the more problems "are generated by themselves".

As Fassou indicated, check the Windows power settings.
Check its operation by swapping the power outlet (not the data bus) with another drive (the DVD player's for example), also make sure the cable is not forced.
When you comment that "it gets fixed by restarting the computer", do you mean that, after restarting, it doesn't happen again in the entire session and everything works correctly again?@Dante's:

Why have a SATA in IDE compatibility mode? Something to do with installing Windows?

As Fassou pointed out, check the power settings in Windows.
Test it by swapping the power plug (not the data bus) with another unit (the DVD player's, for example), and also make sure the cable isn't strained.
When you say it "gets fixed by restarting the computer," do you mean that, after restarting, it doesn't happen again for the entire session and everything works correctly?I've already checked the "power settings in Windows." I've looked at the cable and it's in perfect condition.
After the "phenomenon" with the hard drive happens…, I restart the PC and then, IT MIGHT happen AGAIN. Not always, but IT MIGHT happen unexpectedly.
The problem with the hard drive doesn't appear anymore (3, 4 days using the HDD at 100% and without any problems!). For example (I did this to TEST):
-
I started downloading a game from the hard drive that weighed almost 10GB (on Steam at maximum speed).
-
And at the same time I ran Far Cry 3 from that same HDD (the game had all the video settings on Ultra, so to speak, and at a resolution of 1080p).
In this way, I played for about 3 hours, downloading, browsing the web and NOTHING! NOTHING AT ALL! Understandably, during those hours, the hard drive was working at 100% but nothing strange happened, the game was downloaded and the HDD didn't disconnect

And sorry dude, I didn't understand the last thing you commented.

On some machines it was necessary to switch from AHCI mode to IDE compatibility when installing Win XP on SATA disks.
To switch it back to AHCI you had to touch the registry before changing the BIOS back after installation. The normal (convenient) thing is that both the motherboard and the OS handle SATA disks in AHCI mode.
