No voice in the GPS
-
Hello everyone! A few weeks ago I bought Sygic for Android. My phone is a bit old and sometimes it runs a bit slow but overall the experience is acceptable. I had it set up to give voice directions but for the past few days it hasn't been speaking.
I went into System > Accessibility > Text-to-speech in the Android settings. There are three options there: voice speed, listen to a sample, and default language status. The first two are grayed out and I can't do anything. Under default language status it says "Checking..." and when I tap it, it doesn't do anything. I don't know if this is related or not. Let's see if anyone has an idea

@palotes The voice in sygic is managed by the application itself, check that you have the option of voice instructions selected in settings, notifications and sound, and that you have the correct voice pack in Voice, within the same menu.
Sometimes sygic loses its mind and its settings, check that this has not happened.

@kynes I think it was because it was set to English. But the voice is activated and the speed limit warnings and such are heard.

@palotes
No. It's because it has become a premium feature.
If you don't pay for it, you won't have it again.
I'm the same way... And I guess I'll end up paying....
Although Maps works very well, and without roaming I don't see much point in Sygic anymore -
@Namiga I have premium+traffic. After reconfiguring the program, the voice still doesn't work. I hear the warning beeps but not a single word. I tried disabling and re-enabling voice prompts but nothing.

Let's see if you didn't read the purchase code correctly...
Have you tried entering it again?
If not, you'll have to talk to them, because I can't think of what it could be...
Unless the voice file is corrupted... try changing it to another one and let me know. -
What types of voice do you have downloaded, normal or TTS?, is it the system's voice or one from Sygic?, is it activated by speaker or by bluetooth?, does it have a voice? Have you tried turning up the volume while it's supposed to speak? There are a lot of options, check them out well, it's probably something silly

Don't believe it, the only good thing about Google Maps is the maps and maybe the traffic issue now isn't bad, the navigation is a mess, Sygic and others show you the lane to go on much better, the exits, speeds, dangers, even when there's no good signal (for example in narrow streets of tall buildings) it doesn't go crazy. Let's say that if you don't use it much, Google is fine, even sometimes it has more addresses or streets, but for making a route it's not good at all. I don't think Sygic is the best, but it's cheap and works well.

@Bm4n It's normal. The truth is that I don't know how to set the TTS. I don't know if it's the system's or Sygic's; it's a woman who seems a bit depressed. When there's a voice test in Sygic, it works. I usually have it connected via bluetooth (where the warning beeps are heard). The volume is at maximum when Sygic is started.
@Namiga I don't know why I wasn't logged in. Now I am but it still doesn't work
