Deal on DDR4, 16GB 4000 CL19 Samsung B-Die for 130€, what do you think?

It is curious, because in coolmod for example, they continue at the previous price.
It does not seem to be a mistake since they have appeared in different stores and I, personally, have ordered them in xtremmedia and they are already on the way to be delivered today.

In my personal opinion, there was a big price gouging with RAM memory and I think KFA2 has taken advantage to make a name and a place in the market with an amazing price, at 50% that of its competitors.

Man, off the bat and bare, a latency of 19 (C19-25-25-45) is a burden to consider and, by eye, I estimate that the performance would be similar to that of a 3000-3200 CL14/15; but it's all a matter of seeing how much those latencies can be lowered.

We're also not going to ask for pears from the olmo for the price they have.

Well, off the bat and at first glance, a latency of 19 (C19-25-25-45) is a burden to consider and, at a glance, I estimate that the performance would be similar to that of 3000-3200 CL14/15; but it's all a matter of seeing how much those latencies can be lowered.

They make the 3333 at CL14, with 1.36v, they are very good memories!

I am going to post the results of the first tests I have done with these memories in a Ryzen 5 2600.

4000@CL19 is almost impossible in Ryzen, and more in a simple Ryzen5 2600 like the one I have, so I look to go to 3200 (divisor 1:16) with the lowest latency possible.

I highly recommend the software Ryzen DRAM Calculator, as it calculates the correct timings according to the memory and speed you want to make it run, an example at 3200 timings "safe":

As you can see, the memories should do the 3200@14-14-14-30-44 1T without problems at between 1.34-1.36v.

In my case I tried it and it was not stable, but then I discovered that it was not a problem of the memories, but of the IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) that the Ryzen carries, which by default goes to 0.85v (Vsoc) approx and to work with a 3200CL14 memory it needs more voltage... How much? Well, it will depend on your CPU, although in the image you can see that it recommends from 0.98-1.03v, I need 1.16v for it to work without errors.

Leaving the memories well adjusted in Ryzen takes time, but it is worth it, I have gone from 134 thousand points to 149 thousand in Realbench, just by adjusting the memories well.

As a final detail, to test if it is stable or not use the HCI under Windows, for me what has given me the best result. At first I went with 1.10v (Vsoc/IMC) and I passed everything, Windows went well, Realbench, 3dMark, Memtest86, etc... But! When playing PUBG it crashed and I was thrown to the desktop.

Then I discovered this software on overclock.net and in 10 minutes it found errors in the memory, so I have raised it to 1.16v and so far everything is fine.

Well, ryzen and the memories is still a complex topic, one of these days, when I already have the OC 99.99% stable) I will make a good post about what I have learned.

3200 used to be the limit with the first Zen and it's not easy to surpass in these Pinnacles, there are boards and memories that, while compatible, won't let you go beyond 3GHz. No matter how cool the board and Samsung B-Die you mount, 3400 contributes little and 3600 is just for the photo. Forget about 4000, those latencies are not good companions.

I've always thought that leaving money in memory was a bad investment. It's true that these beasts appreciate it more with Infinity and that this bandwidth helps with certain bottlenecks but, bah, I would have gone for 3GHz of these compatible sticks, which shoot well. B-Die was being paid almost double the price...

The thing is that I saw a review (sorry, I can't remember where) that achieved VERY good minimum FPS with some FlareX 3200, they had tightened the timings very well. There I was left with doubt, they are probably not the option with the best performance/price, nor the most comfortable but, they made me see these high-end 100% compatible memories with other eyes.

The thing is that if you're not a perfectionist you spend half and play all happy but, sometimes these minimums are very important and you end up very frustrated enjoying very good qualities and frametimes not only low, but stable

Let's see if prices continue to drop, offers increase, and already for asking, let GPUs follow, they are also relaxing a bit. Damn abusive oligopolies xD

PD: What I would definitely not do is look for price with an x6 and go for top memories, unless I was going to jump with Ryzen 2. It's not your case, you got a great deal

In my case I was going to go for some 3000 CL15, but I found this deal and didn't hesitate to take it since the 2600 is temporary, as soon as the Ryzen 3000 come out I'll switch to the 8/16 more powerful that there is.

Completely disappeared from stores at that price. I think it was a very specific offer to grab future buyers of their products, because they have been out of stock for two weeks. The rest of the sites are at 229€ or similar. You got an incredible deal.

Option B is to go for those with Samsung D-die, the Patriot Viper 4 (PV416G320C6K) for example. They will be a bit less fine in OC but we ensure the 3200 they mark and we will not have the problems that arise with Hynix or Micron in AM4.

Taiphoon Burner is used to know the manufacturer of the IC in case we have doubts, since there are models that mount chips from different manufacturers in the same model according to the version of it.

Joe mine came out for 150 € but I think they're not good for AM4... but to tell you the truth, I didn't even bother and I have the stock equipment with the XMP profile enabled which leaves me with the memory at 2999mhz by default.

@_neptunno_ I got the information from this review, after I was assured that they worked well on AM4.

According to that, they are Samsung M378A1G43DB0-CPB00 with the Patriot heatsink. It is also noted that they do not have a temperature sensor, as they are based on a somewhat old design.

Edit: Two pieces of news, one good and one bad. The bad is that the Viper 4 (PV416G320C6K) now have Hynix ICs; but the good is that I confirm that they can be set even to 3400 with timings of 3200, so we cry for less.

In the end, in certain models, you only know what ICs they have when you already have them at home and you run the Typhoon on them. Mind you, this is something that I have never cared about, and now with the AM4 crap I have to bother with it... and at my age my belly button can't take any more.

And the truth is that they run at 3200cl16 without any problems. I bought them six months ago for 125€, and they have not disappointed me. I tried the Dram Calculator for Ryzen and got a decent improvement. They managed to boot at 3466 casl16 1.38v, but they were not stable. That said, figuring out if they are single or dual is a pain. These are micron MFR single. I also have some ballistic 2666cas16 with micron around here, which I read can reach 3200 cas16. I set them to 2933 cas16 without problems at 1.35v. This thing with memory and ryzen I think is the same for Intel, if you want oc you have to go for some good ones.
