HPET Mode en XP64 & GA-X38-DQ6

Usando XP64… ¿Deberia desactivar esta opcion en la BIOS?

segun el manual:
HPET Support
(Note):Enables or disables High Precision Event Timer (HPET) for Windows Vista operating system. (Default: Enabled)

HPET Mode
(Note): Allows you to select the HPET mode for your Windows Vista operating system. Select 32-bit mode when you install 32-bit Windows Vista ; select 64-bit mode when you install 64-bit Windows Vista. (Default: 32-bit mode)

¿Alguien que tenga esta placa con XP64 puede decirme si lo tiene activado y sin problemas (BSOD)? ¿Alguien sabe para que sirve exactamente?

Conclusion: Crea micro-interrupciones para sincronizar imagen-sonido para el stream multimedia.
Me dá que sea mas bien util para los servidores de stream que para un usuario de a pie…

gracias XRAYBoy, la cosa es que viene activado por defecto y la gente no parece tener problemas aunque usen xp64… pero yo estoy teniendo unos pantallazos azules que parecen relacionados...

(Aqui lo causa "DivXsm.exe" pero pasa con otros procesos: iexplore, setup… despues de clicar con el raton en cualquier sitio)
