Well for now and I think in the end I will calm my urge to tinker. I use a 1366, my veteran micro is almost 3 years old and the truth is it's still a beast. I even got the consumerist urge to switch to a sandy but I'm going to wait until December to see the LGA2011 and Bulldozer and I'll get one of those.

I use socket 1156 on the main and on the HTPC although in the reality of day to day the Atom of the netbook gets the most use.
Like Techno, I was getting "sleeve pulls" from the Sandy but I think I will exhaust the useful life of my platform which, for the moment, I have more than enough and I don't even have the need to OC it.

              Best regards.

Well, right now with my brand new Core i3 2100 1155, and for the moment very happy, although it must be taken into account that it didn't come alone, but with 8Gb of RAM and a 24" monitor which is glory. A shame that in the ITX motherboards of this platform they have decided to mount the socket so close to the PCIe, not being able to mount the Scythe Shuriken B by a hair.

The E5300 as some of you may know, I didn't change it for low performance, but for building the HTPC and it almost came out the same as buying an entire HTPC than renovating the main one.

Edit: I forgot, the E5300 before I could only overclock it to 3Ghz due to limitations of the Zotac motherboard, and now in the second PC with an Asrock that didn't cost even 40€ I have it at 3,5Ghz without touching anything else and for the moment not pushing it.

775 a Q6600 2.4@3.2 and I'm very happy. For games at 1280*1024 I don't need more and for office work I have more than enough.

I currently use socket 1155 with my brand new Core i5 2500K, which has been accompanied by a GTX460. It's only been a month since I built this computer myself. It's going great.

Although I still use the Core 2 Duo E8200 (socket 775) very often, because it still performs very well with its GTX550, my vote has been for socket 1155. In fact, if the survey had been done two months ago, my vote would have been for socket 775.

I just remodeled my main PC and I took the opportunity to put an AM3 motherboard on my old PhenomII X3, with 8GB DDR3 and a CrossfireX HD5770 + HD5750.

I've had the socket 775 since 2006 and it's still going to last for a while longer. I think it's the PC that has lasted me the longest (and the one I've made the least upgrades to) and it still puts up a good fight.

well let's see if that extends to the other micros. if a card can activate it means that they are not physically capped, and we all know what happens when they cap something by software ?
