updating the bios of an ASUS is quite simple, just go to the Asus page, download the version that suits you best (you have bios updates and bios updates for example to mount the latest CPUs) and burn it to a USB memory, restart the PC and enter the bios in the corresponding section so that it loads the new bios from the USB key. personally, I would dispense with the automatic update, which can always give some problem by installing a bios that you do not like

Now that you mention it, I have indeed noticed a lack of RAM at times with virtual instruments when producing music. Some plugins easily took up 2Gb of RAM, and with only 3Gb it had quite a hard time.
If you can stretch to 8Gb, you can prevent that, but if not, don't worry too much, as 2x2Gb will do just fine.

pufff….. ves..... igual si que me tendré que gastar la pasta en esas 8Gb de ram, porque si me gasto en 4Gb y me da problemas..... Bueno tambien puedo hacer una cosa. Actualmetne tengo 4Gb, aunque en el mem test me hayan dado una 333Mhz y la otra 400Mhz ( ambas son las kinsgton hiperX de 800 pc6200, pero ahora fisicamente resulta que una es 1,8 y la otra es 2.0, teniendo el mismo codigo de etiqueta! ), no es tanto desfase creo yo.... Crees que podría probar antes de hacer nada, cuando ya tenga el nuevo S.O instalado, a ver como se desarrolla el tema? Yo ando ahora con FL, pero dentro de poco dispondré tambien del ablenton lite para probarlo.
Aparte claro está, juego como el que mas! jajajaja

Puedes probarlo, tampoco es mucho desfase. De hecho yo lo probaría antes de nada. Aunque si después pruebas una pareja de memorias nuevas más rápidas obviamente notarás la diferencia

Yo también produzco con FL, y con plugins como el QL Ra ciertos instrumentos se me quedaban sin cargar porque entre el S.O. y el plugin no dejaban suficiente RAM libre.
Pero yo tengo 3Gb y con desfase, en tu caso con 4Gb quizás no te de problemas.

vamos a ver …. si me dices que durante dos o tres años no tienes intención de actualizar el pc ( placa micro y memorias ) pues si. puedes gastarte la pasta tranquilamente en una DDR2 que notaras la diferencia , pero si de aquí a digamos un año te da por actualizar el equipo tendrás unas memos que en ningún caso abras rentabilizado

Yo uso el W7 de 32 bits, pero desde junio prácticamente. Antes utilizaba el PC2 de la firma, con windows XP y el FL tiraba estupendamente, aunque más de lo mismo con la RAM y los plugins gordos.

No conozco ese plugin, ¿que problemas te da?

se "atranca" a veces, pero veola ventana del uso de cpu y no esta para nada a tope.
