dices que has conectado el conector de 4 pins pero los has conectado completo ( 8 pins ) según veo tu fuente tiene un conector de 4 + 4 supongo que has puesto los dos ¿ no?

Si, correcto he puesto los dos conectores de 4 pines aunque segun el manual de la placa solo es necesario un conector de 4pines excepto si vas a hacer OC.

I think I've found the problem.

It may be due to the pins on the motherboard as I've been looking at the processor from the contact side and on most there is a dot in the middle of the pins on the board but there are a few where the pin mark is almost outside the processor contact.

How can a board come with the pins wrong? because it's impossible that I bent them when I put the micro in as it only has one correct position. Could this be why my PC won't boot?

Try to mount the board with the micro only (heatsink also obviously)
Without memory and without graphics, just board + micro.

Regarding the pins that you just commented... there have been cases of boards that have arrived from the store with bent/broken pins, they can be corrected manually if they are not broken, but it is best to contact the store so that they take action.
