You never go to bed without learning something new :chuckles:
It's a curious detail, isn't it? Although it would be more profitable for them to put the backlit keyboard, I think…
Isn't that the webcam's own light? They usually come with little lights or LEDs to illuminate the subject in question ?

          Best regards

Nah, it's the HP from work, the Alienware has the backlit keyboard (and you can change the color )

It doesn't look like the webcam, mainly because it lights up downwards instead of from the front xD

I had never seen it before, but it's a nice feature if you have to work in poorly lit environments or even in bed.

This is the classic invention that is discovered when something goes wrong. Surely at first it was a light for the webcam, but a designer messed it up and when they asked for explanations he said "uh, yes... this... it's a light for the keyboard!" And then he was promoted and that's why HP now has quite a few problems.

                      Sure.

It's much more practical to have a backlit keyboard…
It reminds me of the flexible USB lights that had the same goal.

And isn't that light mobile? I mean, doesn't it rotate up or down? It's curious... with how little it costs to put a backlit keyboard, which also gains points in the market... What model is it? I say that because my girlfriend's Pavilion g6 has it backlit, and it's less than 3 years old I think.

It happens to us all, to me until a colleague told me what the "little things" on the macbook chargers were for, to roll up the cable, I didn't even know they existed. And something worse, not long ago I discovered that the rearview mirrors on my car are heated. And reading the instructions is for sissies : giggles:

I suppose it will go by ranges, it doesn't make much sense (at least aesthetically), to put a backlit keyboard on an elitebook (at least in the sick minds of hp)

That type of light is commonly used by many IBM/Lenovo. I don't know if it will help much, because I have never messed with them in the dark.

It is true, but in our case we usually end up discovering them… it is something beautiful, almost magical, when you have been with something for months or years and suddenly you discover something new! And you are left with a look of astonishment, saying I am stupid, it was there all the time. Or not? ;D
