Test of the Real Nvidia Gtx Titan, single-sli-tri Sli, 4 WAY SLI
-
Let's see.. I think many don't know who Kingpin or Shamino or a long etc... and who the rest of us are. Kingpin is a professional overclocker, highly reputed and in this case works for EVGA. He earns a lot of money with it, and obviously has knowledge and innate talent as well as the means. I, on the other hand, am a home user with very good equipment, who tries to get the most out of it within reasonable parameters and with the means I have available. Kingpin, for example, for that test, may have had at his disposal like 30 or 40 processors chosen and he selected the best of those. EVGA has put just as many boards with specific parameters and protection measures nullified and on top of that an arsenal of TITANs with selected chips and he has again chosen the ones that gave him the best results. To this we must add that as he doesn't pay anything, he does the volt-mods for free because they don't have to worry if they break, not like me, which has cost me 1000€ each graphic and I have to pamper it.. and if we also consider that even the OC program, the EVGA precison, has been modified for the occasion and tons of LN2, which as is well known, almost everyone has at home.. then I think everything is said. Each one has their merit, he is paid to do what he has done. That is to beat all existing records, with his good doing and with unlimited means... And I, with stratospheric hardware, but after all, for personal use, I can get in there, with everything in stock dissipation, without voltages and tuning as much as possible, but always with margin so that all the components that are in their original state remain perfect after the bench, because they are mine and I want to keep them to play which is basically what I want the team for. Having said that, thank you all.. and yes, it is very possible that anyone with a team of my characteristics and a minimum of knowledge, would also be in that ranking. Regards. -
But the fact that you're using LN2 is already a merit, because here in my city, you have to have a license and attend classes just to be able to use it and get it. Then (I assume because I've never done OC with LN2) you have to set up a container that cools the plate/processor, and well, the OC will work the same as one that uses water or air, it's about playing around until you get the maximum potential of the processor without having the temperature limit.
I don't know, I don't want to take away the merit from ELP3's score, but rather defend a bit what kingpin has achieved. It's annoying that he has a higher score for using LN2, so fight to get that position using the same thing!
It's clear that kimgpin or Shamino are where they are for a reason, for a company to allow you to do that is because they have stood out with it in every way, people who don't know don't support them a multinational.
But this is like everything, even motorcycle racing, only the official drivers of the most powerful teams aspire to win, the others have to fight every race to get a podium since their material is inferior, the money that the team or sponsor has influences a lot, it's similar here.
I don't criticize kingpin, I think that if EVGA supports him it's because he understands a lot, but doing it with your hardware without support and also not wanting to break anything, because it's very expensive, also has merit, it's not just about plugging in and being done.
regards

Of course, my intention was not to take away from the ELP3 score (after all, I have not seen the work behind that score either), but to defend a bit the position of kingpin, which some of you have jumped to as if I had cheated.
It is clear that if you do not have a resource source behind (sponsors), it is difficult to get extreme scores, but this is like with online games (LoL, Starcraft, etc.) where sponsors pay worker salaries to players, so they spend the day playing, or Intel-AMD-Nvidia, to improve their R&D in their products.
In summary, do not get angry or take it badly, I just wanted to be a bit sincere and criticize a little, hehe.
-

Haha, I wish I had paid, I would have enough for the second Titan, hehe, in fact, until I saw the list that ELP3 posted, I didn't even know about its existence.

Curious about that 3DMark ranking, in monoGPU there's a GTX680 and GTX670 above the Titan from K|NGP|N, is that normal? :ugly: (in fact, his is in the tenth position behind other Titans) -

It's normal, he hasn't pushed that Titan much, for now he's first, but that will give much more when other nitrogen users start messing with Titans with good micros and good manners, then we'll see a nice fight of equals again and we'll see who comes out on top, just saying in 3dmark11 he's pushed a score with a 3930k to 5500, that's good, but when there are people like the second ranked with a 3770k to 6400 have a Titan with nitrogen we'll see where he stands, remember the second is with a 7970, that's why it's not surprising that in some places with more modest graphics he gets beaten, but boy when he gets his act together he'll give more of himself too, no doubt about that.

That one from Kingpin is a 680, it's not the Titan although I see those scores as very strange, first because I think that Kingpin set that 680 to 2Ghz, maybe they haven't put the Titans yet for Ln2, I'm talking about one that is true that those 680 and 670 are ahead of some Titans, even ahead of the 680 that I think he set to 2Ghz, although I don't know if the 2Ghz was an extreme pass or just Performance.
To me those scores seem strange, 3dmark used to be very influenced by the equipment or processor and sometimes they go crazy and give a high score or a low score, but in extreme a 680 shouldn't beat a Titan in 3dmark11, I don't like those tests that are getting shorter and shorter and that influence many things for the final score.

It is normal, he has not put much effort into that Titan
Well, about not putting much effort in, I don't know what to tell you, they are all at 575 core (according to the page) except his which is at 705, with more micro than many above. There is some problem with those scores.
Edit: Okay it seems to be a driver issue, they are all with 9.18.13.1409 and he on the single GPU has 9.18.13.623.

Hello ELP3:
How are you? I hope and wish you are well…......
I posted in another branch and I realize that this one is the one for results / tests and so on.
At a glance, is this Titan better than the Teslas for Distributed Computing? Or even better than the GTX 680 / GTX 690?
In price, I already told you that yes, because the last Tesla I bought is C 2075 :wall::wall::wall::wall:
Although they have already responded to me and I am grateful, I would like to ask for your opinion.
A hug.
-
OT: Geltops, in which distributed computing project are you having Tesla work?
-
OT: Geltops, en qué proyecto de computación distribuida tienes trabajando la Tesla?
Now I have it in Primegrip as well as all the GTX 580s.
Regards.
-
In which team are you? I can't find you individually. It's to see how many credits your machines process (if you don't have them hidden).
-
Hello, I want to join the club. I am eager to get a Titan, but I would like to get a hydrocopper.
ELP3 Thanks for posting your results and opinions. Here I think there are many of us who follow you.
It's a pleasure to read this post, from where I come it's for suicide. What a bunch of people. But thanks to a fellow member I was able to find this one and join it.A strong greeting to all.

Here we go…trying.
I tell you the same thing as always geltops, I don't have a clue about distributed computing, and I haven't tested them in that. In principle, they should be very good, because they have the same chip as the Tesla K20X, NOTE, same chip, not the same drivers or fully active for it. As you can imagine, Nvidia is not going to stop selling Teslas at 6000€ to sell TITAN at 1000€...they must have made some difference/castration. What you can do is leave them for cuda exclusively like a Tesla, activating and deactivating single and double precision.
Best regards.
Here you have a tool to tune your Titans: KGB - Kepler BIOS Editor/Unlocker - Page 16
Page 16 and page 17 are the best.
Thanks Ximi..but the truth is that I'm a bit lost and as there are so many links, I don't know which one is really the editor…I'm dense this afternoon..
Best regards.

ELP3, this is the editor: Dropbox - kgb_0.6.2.zip - Simplify your lifeYou already know how to use it, right?
I used it with my GTX 680 and it's a real treat.
C:\\kgb.exe "nombre_vBios".rom unlock
Change what you want to edit in the config - tweak your vBios.

Hello ELP3, I now have an EVGA GTX 690. With a Benq XL2420T monitor at 1080P, but I use the 120hz in games. Would you change to a GTX TITAN? In the future I could do an SLI. I don't know if I will gain something in smoothness which is what I want.
Best regards
