Internal connections motherboard z170-K and desktop PC assembly
-
Well I'm building my first PC.
I've already mounted the processor with its fan and the memory (32 GB).
And now I'm stuck with the internal connections that I have to make. Starting with the front of the case that I bought.
I have several problems.
1. I can't see the speaker connector to connect to the motherboard.
2. I can't see how to connect the card reader that the front of the case incorporates.
3. Choosing which connector to install the two USB 3.0 ports from the front of the case
4. Can I choose any of the USB 2.0 connectors or do I have to follow an order?
5. I can't see where to connect the advanced audio connector
6. The case has a fan speed selector. With three positions. And I have about four connectors at the output of that selector. I imagine that it's not convenient to connect the fans that are connected to the motherboard (3) there.
7. The connection group for power off, reset, HDD power, PC power has caused me a bit of confusion. Especially with the orientation of the connectors, looking for positive or negative, whether they go horizontal or vertical... In addition to not seeing the speaker cable anywhere. I don't even see the speaker. I don't think it came with the motherboard. And as an image is worth a thousand words I'll try to upload images...

Let's see if they can be seen
Otherwise I will continue the post later with links to each image.

The AAFP connector is the audio front panel and I have finally managed to associate it with the HD Audio that is inscribed on the case cable.Asus Z170-k Motherboard Schematic Photo by Metachisme | Photobucket

1. I don't see the speaker connector to connect to the motherboard.
:facepalm:2. I don't see how to connect the card reader that incorporates the front of the case.
Have you tried connecting it to one of the USBs?
3. Choose which connector I install the two USB 3.0 outputs from the front of the case
In the one you want.
4. Of the USB 2.0 connectors I can choose any one or do I have to follow an order?
Any.

5. I don't see where to connect the advanced audio connectorApparently, yes.
6. The case has a fan speed selector. With three positions. And I have about four connectors at the output of that selector. I imagine it's not convenient to connect the fans that are connected to the board (3) through there.
You can connect them to a branch of the power supply. In fact, for anything that isn't a CPU fan, it's recommended.

The positive pole is always the one with colors, and you can't connect two positives to the same pair, which gives you the position.

I still can't see the speaker thing.
On the motherboard yes, but none of the front cables are marked as speaker...So either that cable is missing or something is wrong with the speakers...
-
I'm not sure about the fan point.
The regulator acts as a switch, I suppose. Well, like a potentiometer.
Would it be from the power supply to the fan and from the fan to the regulator?
I just can't see how to complete the circuit?
A connection diagram?

I still can't see the speaker thing.
On the motherboard yes, but none of the front panel cables are marked as speaker….So that cable is missing or something is wrong with it....
If it's not among the things that came with the motherboard, or the ones in the box, you'll have to buy it.
And about the fans, better check the case manual, if it came with one, or youtube.
Learning is fun.

What does the speaker look like and how much does it cost?
Don't make me google!!!!!
I'm a forum member and I like you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
the box is this.
Deep Sting Black / White Gaming PC Case
white in color
comes without speaker i think.
-
USB 3.0 have a different connector…. you have to connect them to connector 5 (usb3_12)
The thing about the speaker... it will be the first case I see that doesn't have one. (speaker, so you understand)
Really... you have no idea how to build a PC and you're getting into this mess? ¬¬¬¬
I think it's strange

The bad thing is not not knowing. The bad thing is not wanting to know -
Wow, but even if I don't bring it, a speaker, buzzer, speaker or whatever you want to call it costs a whopping 2 €. :wall:
And about the fans, there's nothing on that box, there are systems that take one cable to molex and another to the fan, so you have to work it out, if I were a fortune teller I swear the computer would be very different from the one I signed. ;D

It sounds to me that the last tower I assembled (years ago), the speaker came with the motherboard and the tower didn't have one, which I found strange.
The speaker looks like this Image -
Well this afternoon I was looking to buy the speaker like crazy.
There is none. They don't have it. Not in the main electronics store nor in two other well-known stores.
In the big malls they surely don't have it.Do you really need it? I think it's equivalent to the LED light show or light codes...
I bought a DVD drive because the one from the previous computer is not usable because the connector was an IDE cable and the Z170-K does not have an IDE connector.
Does anyone know how many SATA ports my motherboard has?
I've messed up with the SATAEXPRESS ports. I think I have six SATA 6.0 Gb/s and one SATA Express. What exactly is the M.2 connector for?
In simple words please, because I don't understand the wiki article.
I'm cleaning the previous power supply which is quite powerful and new according to what they told me at the service center.
I need to clarify about the SATA ports
Do I have SATA 3 or are they superior? Is a SATA 6 Gb/s the same as a SATA 6?
They're telling me that I have to connect the SSD to at least a SATA 3... -

The speaker looks like this ImageIn my case the motherboard didn't come with it. And the case didn't either. After checking properly.
As I said above maybe I don't need it.
And I can see errors with the light codes equivalent to the audio codes.
Which isn't that it gives me lights….. -
usb 3.0 have a different connector…. you have to plug them into connector 5 (usb3_12)

The bad thing isn’t not knowing. The bad thing is not wanting to knowOf course I get into these messes. And I learn little by little. But from you!!!!!!!!!!!. That’s why I come to the forum instead of googling. I believe in something called didactic inference or that people transmit things to each other.
I despise google and I like you more.
That doesn’t mean that if I need to, I won’t look something up on google. We’re human for a reason and that google of all things is a robot or machine.

A fellow user posted above:

Does this mean that it is better to connect the other two fans marked on the board instead of to the board to a branch of the power supply and then to the speed controller?
I think the fans connected to the board have the advantage of controlling their rotation speed through software...

mmmm. No me pongas al pirata que me da miedo. Sobre todo los de pata palo.
Pues sí, un SAT Hasta por donde yo vivo hay algunos bien buenos. -
Well. To contrast criteria with the experts
I have four sata 3 and one sataexpress
or I have:
six sata 3.
What I think I don't have is six sata 3 and one sataexpress. That is, you either use the sataexpress or you split it into two sata 3….
Am I right or am I being deceived which is a shame?
<:(

…ok, I made a mistake.

Anyway, it was worth a try.
