The cover of HardLimit is a space where original content is published periodically with established quality criteria.

Obtaining points

Points are exchanged for participations in a raffle that takes place periodically. For more information, you can visit this thread.

Users belonging to the group of writers will automatically obtain 4 points per month, in addition to what is obtained for their publications on the cover and other sources of points.

In addition, for every 15 words published, 0.1 points will be obtained.

Conditions for permanence in the group of writers

Group members are required to publish at least 4 entries on the cover per month. These entries must comply with the criteria set out in the following sections.

All conditions will be strictly enforced and, with the intention of informing, all errors made will be criticized. In case of repeated non-compliance with the conditions, the user will be expelled from the group of writers and will not obtain the points corresponding to their membership in the given month. If the quota of at least 4 monthly entries is not met, the writer will be expelled unconditionally.

A writer can notify of prolonged inactivity (minimum two weeks). In that case, the obligation to publish at least 4 entries per month disappears. During this period, the writer will not receive the 4 extra monthly points. There is no time limit to remain inactive as a writer, although limits could be established on the number of times inactivity can be declared in a certain period of time.

An expelled writer cannot return to being a writer until 3 months have passed since their expulsion and, after that time, their candidacy can be rejected.

Failure to comply with certain legal conditions or attempting to abuse the system (such as having multiple accounts) can result in the loss of all points and the user's expulsion from the forum

Background

The theme of the forum is adopted. Any user who wishes can specialize in a specific field (processors, graphics cards, etc).

In no case will consultations be accepted as content. Sponsored content is strictly prohibited if there is no prior agreement.

Literal translations from other sites can be published as long as the license of the translated content allows it or explicit permission is obtained from the author.

The content published must be entirely in Spanish.

Form

The writing style must be sufficiently refined: correct spelling, appropriate punctuation marks, consistent paragraph size, well-constructed sentences, readable content, etc. The cover is not a forum or a chat.

If you believe you need help to publish with the appropriate style, you can request the assistance of an editor in which case the points would be distributed 75/25% between the writer and editor only from the points obtained for publications.

The cover entries must be at least 250 words long.

Clickbait titles are not allowed. If you want to attract attention with empty information, this is not your place.

Organization of the cover

The cover news will be divided into two parts: the entry itself and a thread in the forum:

· The entry should have a headline or summary of appropriate length (between 2 and 5 lines approximately).

· In the forum, a thread will be created with the same title as the cover entry. That thread will contain ONLY the headline or summary along with a link to the cover entry with the text "Read more…" in size 3. The author may give their opinion or comment on any matter related to the published content, responding in that same thread.

· At the end of the cover information, a link to the forum thread should be included with the text "View comments" without a period at the end and in "Title 5" size.

· If it is a news item, the thread should be in the "HL News" forum. If it is any other type of content not related to current events, it should go in the forum corresponding to its discipline. THIS CONDITION WILL DISAPPEAR IN THE COMING WEEKS.

Legal

· Copying one's own content published on other sites is not allowed. The content published on the HardLimit cover must be exclusive for a period of at least 6 months.

· After 6 months, the author may choose the license under which the content can be maintained on HardLimit and obtain economic benefit through advertising. If the license is not specified, a Creative Commons by-sa license will be established by default.

· The author will be the owner of said content at all times and may breach the legal conditions set out above. In that case, all points obtained to date for the affected publications will be deducted from the points portfolio and all points obtained from other sources, both present and future.

· The author has the possibility of choosing whether to publish the content with their real name or with their nickname.

· Copy-pasting from other sites is not allowed under any circumstances, unless it is relevant to the information such as the statement of a responsible person/expert/etc, in which case it must be translated if it is not in Spanish.

*Opinion articles must be properly reasoned. Entries of the type: “Intel is better than AMD because I perform better” are not allowed. A valid opinion can be in the style of “¿Where is the law of Moore heading?”, where there is no clear answer and where one can speculate.

**According to the rules, it is not allowed to talk about politics, so entries about legislation biased or with a focus on a political party are not acceptable. Example: If a European law comes out tomorrow that prevents Google from operating on current terms, we talk about the law, the causes, consequences, etc. Not about which party has voted against or in favor, or about what individual has interests in seeing it pass or not, etc. If you are not sure, do not publish the entry.

I think candidates could be sought based on specific topics to cover, such as hardware, games, software… For example, in the hardware topic, I'm amazed by the high level of many here (I won't name names so that they don't think I'm nominating them to be writers ;D).

I have in mind some small personal project to publish on a blog, but I have no problem sharing it here as well, but it wouldn't fit in the news topic, since it will be a worklog that will stretch over time. Today I'm starting my vacation (without traveling) and I have time to work on things like this.

My favorite topics are retrocomputing and Linux, although I think the main focus should be hardware, mostly because it's always been what this community has been about. I also know other forum members who are good at other topics, but I won't name anyone again as I could put them in a tricky situation and some of them make a living from it professionally.

All disciplines are welcome on the cover. If in the end we talk less about hardware, that's fine: the cover will become what its writers want it to be.

I inform you that you have two possibilities: publish directly in the forum for which you are not obliged to follow the conditions of writer, or publish on the front page for which you must follow the requirements and you will benefit from the advantages.

al margen del hardware, overclocloking y otros temas que he abordado durante estos últimos años, he realizado un máster de marketing online, en una escuela de negocios de Barcelona. Por otro lado, hice dos cursos en la UNED, posicionamiento SEO y, valga la redundancia, marketing online. Si puedo aportar materia que enriquezca el foro, podría escribir cuatro artículos al mes, siguiendo las normas del foro y reglas de redacción del mismo.

You don't have to convince me :hugging: any help in contributing content is welcome and if you also have experience, knowledge and know how to convey it, the better. If you decide to go the way of posting in the forum, you can start whenever you want.
