I need a Wi-Fi access point that also acts as a switch

As @kynes mentioned, you just need to use a normal WiFi router, which will act as a repeater by emitting its own WiFi signal (with its own SSID and key) but which goes out to the internet through the connection of the main router, which provides it through any of its LAN ports. You will have both a switch with a connection and an extra WiFi network. I have one right here next to me, because the WiFi signal from the main router doesn't reach some areas of the house, so I added this "collaborator".

It's not the most convenient way to connect and disconnect from one network to another, but if you're lucky and like in my case the signal from the "collaborator" is stronger than that of the main router, you can stay constantly connected to that one (although in your case with so many meters in between I don't know if it will be possible).

I'm looking for a single device (they exist) and preferably in a "plug" format because I don't have the possibility to leave it on any support or table.

A PLC is not either. A PLC is a device that sends the network signal over the 230V cables. I don't want that. I have ethernet in the garage. I just want to be able to keep using the Ethernet and also have wifi.

If you use the network cable, all you need to do is simply plug in a neutral router to have internet in the garage.

The only thing is, if you need devices on the home network to see each other and the subnet created in the garage, you'll have to add some routing rules, but nothing complicated.

The truth is that I have never seen anything like this. The closest thing I can think of is a PLC with wifi and two or three RJ-45 connectors like this. If it allows you to configure the access point in the way you want, you have it easy. The only thing you would have to do is forget that it has PLC. What I don't know is if there will be other devices that don't come with PLC and are cheaper.

That is the question, when I said that I needed it to be plugged directly I thought of a PLC "repeater" + WiFi, but indeed as @cobito comments, I do not know to what extent it is configurable only as a "repeater" (switch) through RJ45 and not through the electrical network.

@Dixman I still think that if you only want to continue using the ethernet cable you have and also have WiFi, the best option in every way is to add a neutral router as the colleagues have already commented.

In fact, it is probably the option that best suits your needs because the devices that broadcast in 5G are very scarce, from brands that are not always known and expensive, while neutral routers with WiFi 5G are quite cheap and very easy to set up for sure.

Thanks Cobita but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. What you've put is similar. In that device, the network "reaches" it via wifi and acts as a repeater and also broadcasts through the 2 ethernet ports.

I need the same thing but the network reaches it through one of the ethernet ports and then repeats it through the other ethernet and wifi.

I think what you're looking for is a WiFi extender with two RJ45 ports, one for input and another for output.

Yes, there are some for around €30 up to how much you want to spend, you plug it into the wall, connect the cable from the main router and off you go; plus you have a free port in case you want to connect another device by cable. You can also use them as a signal repeater, but they lose a lot of their charm.

I put these as something indicative, but it should be noted that the ports are usually 10/100, nothing Gigabit.

And I'm not going to be a pain about how the best thing would be a neutral router... but the best thing would be a neutral router.

Thanks to everyone for your responses, but I still stand by my decision.

Look, I have a repeater like this:

I have it set up as an access point.
I have the outlet where I have it plugged in, and the RJ-45 jack from the company router also reaches there.
So I have the device plugged into the power outlet and also connected to the RJ-45 jack with a 20 cm RJ45 cable.

This way I have WIFI in the area and I don't lose the outlet, BUT the device only has one RJ-45 jack that it's using to connect to the router.

I've seen models that have 2 RJ-45 jacks. They also call them WAN (the one that's supposed to go to the router) and LAN (the one that's supposed to be for connecting "clients") but they always lack something, either they don't have a 230V outlet, or they're not 5G or something.

I need one that meets the following requirements:

1. 2 RJ-45 JACKS (and if they're gigabit, that's great)
2. That plugs directly into the mains. (no transformers or cables)
3. That has a 230V outlet (ac pass through plug IS CALLED)
4. That is WIFI 2.4 and 5ghz

Bloody hell, is that too much to ask?

If it exists, of course it will be within a very high range and the price will be prohibitive.

Think that the functionality you want, you have it by putting a cheap switch connected to the RJ45 socket, and from this would come out the mouth to the WiFi plug and would serve the rest of the devices you want.

But also you want it to be one of those that don't make you lose the plug, which are not that many either.

Yes, the extender model you present I had already seen and it was one of the options. If I can't find one with a power outlet I'll have to adapt to what's available. Thanks to everyone for your contributions.
