Intel Core i5 13400 does not reach maximum frequency

Normally, in Intel processors, the maximum turbo boost is applied to a single core. If you do a mononúcleo benchmark, you will surely see it working at maximum turbo boost. In multinúcleo, the frequencies decrease because otherwise the TDP would skyrocket. It is also true that, since the 12th generation, they do not work as limited in frequencies but in temperature. Thermal throttling lowers temperatures. This can also be seen in the 7th generation of Ryzen...

@Clipper said in F.A compatibility with H.P tower:

      The million dollar question.
Does anyone know which connector to bridge for the F.A to start up and verify output voltages?
      Regards

From what I've read around, normally the green and black wires of the P2 connector are bridged if it has one (similar to how it's done in traditional power supplies).
If it doesn't have one or has different colors, the purple and yellow wires are bridged on the P1 connector (again, if it has those colors).

I don't know if there are more variations regarding the models and versions of the power supplies/equipment, but in those cases it works.

      Regards

@Belzebu Let's see, it seems that everything is compatible and should work but it's hard to be sure because in laptops, since everything is often proprietary connectivity, unpredictable things can happen. I would take a risk, I tell you that too but I like the risk... I have a desktop board with a laptop processor from the brand Erying... With that I tell you everything... ?

hello, what motherboard do you have? because with that processor you have pcie 2.0 and depending on the motherboard, you could put a series 3 processor that has dropped in price and you increase the pcie to 3.0 in addition to supporting faster memories, and a 3770 is always better and cooler than a 2600
don't worry about the bottleneck, you can put up to a 2060 if the motherboard supports that processor upgrade. I use a xeon equivalent to the 3770 with 32gb at 1833mhz and a 1650 of 4gb ddr6 as a game server for some friends and as a PLex server for my family.

check as they say, the thermal paste and other components, and take close-up photos of the board from the front and back, to see if the Chinese have done any of their own.. normally these boards do not dissipate the heat from the memory. you will have to make some repairs to fix it. I put some small heatsinks for that and lowered the memory frequencies a bit.

@pos_yo hello, sorry I just answered now, well, there are thousands of am3+ motherboards that support fx, in fact that socket was designed for fx. but.... the chipset that comes with the one you mentioned is.... terrible and the data bus, HT doesn't even reach 800mhz, and fx, if I remember correctly, was at 2ghz. that's why it doesn't work. you have a bottleneck of scandalous size. look for a 990x or 990fx which are the ones with the highest data bus since the 970 980 and others are given a small oc to go up to 2ghz.
and always look for amd chipsets for those processors. they are the best that go with them.
but fx are not 6 core. they are 3 core and 6 thread.... the fx issue was a scandal. for me, the best of that era are the 1100t or that series of phenomn II x6 those are real 6 core. and with some improvements and tweaks, they can compete with more than one i7 of that era.
