Thanks for everything, @cobito, because the whole thing looks great. And also inviting the most "classic" users of hardlimit to use other applications of the Hardlimit ecosystem. I am very active on Mastodon, where I have been for 4 years among other instances and that of Hardlimit, and I usually toote (this is what tweeting on Twitter is called) news, my live streams, links, opinions very off the cuff, etc... In short, LONG LIVE HARDLIMIT!

It's my turn, let's see if I don't take too long, if not I'll edit it later and add more!! My favorite gaming library is Steam, however I already have so many games on Epic... but honestly I haven't even touched it jajaja life doesn't give me time.
Taking advantage of the fact that statistics of sessions, games, etc. can be obtained, here is the Steam summary of 2023:
    Steam_2023.jpg
    \xa0
    \xa0
Stalker CS: I enjoyed it quite a bit, but because of the great idea of adding mods to improve its gameplay, I encountered various bugs. Until I reached a point where I couldn't continue the game, so I had to reinstall it and look for a save in the area where I more or less left off. A bittersweet feeling, but hey, it had been so many years that I had been pending to resume the saga that it was worth it.

Doom 64: I had never played the first Doom, one of the most classic and iconic in its genre. Thanks to this one I was finally able to have the experience and enjoy the quintessential kill-fest. Of course I still have to play the original Doom, but I enjoyed it ?
The curious thing is that I started playing it on Epic Games, but since I also had it on Steam, I preferred the latter platform.

GTA V: I finished the story mode last year, but I played a few games and a while in online mode. As always, “great game”.

Quantum Break: I gifted it to myself for my birthday last year. I liked it, it's noticeable that Remedy is behind it (Alan Wake, Max Payne). But… it was a bit confusing for me because of the time-related plot (even though I love time travel stuff), very cinematic, some save points were very poorly planned. But well, overall I think it's a good game.

Portal With RTX: Simply the first Portal but getting the most out of ray tracing. It's always a pleasure to play Portal ?

Portal Reloaded: With the bug for Portal 1, I got into playing this mod based on Portal 2. It's very good, but I left it halfway because the difficulty level seemed too hard to me. However, maybe someday I'll get motivated to finish it.

Tomb Raider IV: The latest revelation. Well, it had been about 15 years since I played it “for the second time”. I was eager, I spent a very entertaining Holy Week and enjoyed a classic xD

Farming Simulator 2013: I have a superior version on Epic, I'm not sure if it's the 2017 or 2019. However, I was eager to play it for a few hours since in 2013 I barely played 8 hours. I ended up playing almost 100 hours jajaja
It has some shortcomings that I hope will be addressed in the new versions. I imagine that a lot of time has passed.

Serious Sam 4: I barely played a few hours, let's see if I finish it this year. It's a game that's good for thinking little and de-stressing xD Well, sometimes you get stuck and have to use your brain a bit, but the best thing (sometimes overwhelming) is the intensity of the combat.

Stalker Lost Alpha: I had more fun with it than with Clear Sky, but I got a bit saturated and left it parked. Let's see if I continue this year and finish it. There's already a thread on the forum about the game, if you like the saga it's highly recommended.

Red Dead Redemption 2: I've played a little, the tutorial and a bit more. It's a great game, let's see if I get fully into it. Many hours appear in my profile due to the tests I ran to test the PC.

GTA III Remaster: I bought it on Christmas, well, I got the complete pack. Honestly, I see it as a rip-off that I have to pay €9.99 for a game that I already have and whose improvements are very poor. I understand that someone “new” might want to sell it to you as is and at that price I think it's perfect, but for those who already have it, it's a bit of a nonsense.
I knew it already, if I bought it is because I'm a huge fan and yet I waited a year to see if they improved something, but apparently they didn't do much more, at least in GTA III.
I've played a few hours, maybe I'll get excited and finish it, but it's not my intention. I'll tell you how Vice City and San Andreas are, these are the ones I'd really like to play again completely.

As for other games outside of Steam, the summary would be this:

Minecraft: Little just to try the RTX mod. It's amazing the effects of light and water.

Word of Warships: The only multiplayer game I play. I'll have to leave it a bit more aside if I want to advance in my list of games this year xD

Tomb Raider-Custom Levels: Of course, my strongest addiction can't be missing.
I'll detail the levels I've played later in case it helps someone, or if someone gets motivated to give it a little more effort ?

The motherboard does not officially support that micro, and there are very few AM3+ micros that it supports, so it is a bad option.

Look for a more modern motherboard, as already commented in this same post from 10 years ago

    Salu2!

@Tilinsito421 When the output is DVI, when transforming it to VGA, it should work correctly. What cable do you connect it with? Do you use a VGA cable and transform the signal directly from the card or do you connect it via DVI and transform the signal directly on the monitor? It seems silly but the number of times a slightly dodgy cable gives signal errors. Another option is to try it with the other outputs although you would need other signal adapters...

    • I assume you have already checked the card's control panel and no other screen appears connected because it would not be the first time that a resolution error or sampling frequency error gives a signal error on a VGA screen...

@cobito said in Cluster 3 nodes of Hp proliant dl360p gen8:

@jordiqui You mean the MPi topic that you commented on here, right?

It's noted. It will be the first change in the next iteration, but I don't know when. I have many changes noted from all the pages and I need to organize the work to optimize time.

To be honest, it would be very interesting (and an uncommon feature).

Let's see how 2024 comes in...

That's @cobito: But with everything you do with the forum, etc. when you can because I imagine integrating MPi must have its own challenges. A hug and a Merry Christmas in advance ?

@Sylver Hello and thank you very much for responding and for the congratulation, you see that was my idea but there are so many devices on the market that I don't know which one would be the most appropriate and that has Chat GPT, I think I will go to Mediamarkt and that the employees advise me.
    Thank you very much.

A reliable way would be to cycle the battery and measure the energy it can store. This could be done by comparing the duration of a battery in good condition under intense and constant load. There are apps like this one, that serve for that. Once you have the duration of the type battery, you can compare other batteries.

If you want to build yourself an invention, with a multimeter and a resistor, it could be worth it. You would have to measure how long it takes for the battery to discharge and take voltage or current points from time to time. With that and some simple calculations using Ohm's law, you can find out the percentage of charge left in the battery.

If you want to automate the process, a cheap way would be with Arduino, which would also allow you to check multiple batteries simultaneously. If the battery is less than 5V (unless you are going to check laptop batteries, that would be the case), you can connect it directly to an analog input of the microcontroller. If you are going to use batteries of higher voltage, you can use a voltage divider (once again, Ohm's law is your friend). You put a resistor and write a program that periodically measures the voltage. Knowing the value of the resistor, the voltage over time and total discharge time, you can find both the total charge (Ah) and the total energy (Wh) and that value you can compare directly with the battery specifications. The calculation can be done in the Arduino programming and returned through the serial port.

@pos_yo great contribution, it's always good to be able to count on this type of information to learn and/or to enjoy other alternatives to play that are not on Windows ?

I really enjoyed Alan Wake 1, although I went through moments of pure tension... what a setting and very good gameplay. I'll give it to 2 when it comes out (preferably with a discount lol) but I think I'll have to play it during the day xD
