It seems that in the fall we will finally have GTA5 for PC. Let's hope it's not a sloppy port like the 3 and 4 were:
Well, I remember that GTA 4 was heavily criticized for being a disastrous port, although over time and patch after patch, the game improved a lot. However, I tried it on console and played on PC and of course I prefer the PC version.
However, I didn't know GTA 3 was a console port, and more than that, people would have polished it up... I really loved it, really... it's mythical to me, and if I reinstall it, I'll play it again :ugly:
GTA 5, I intuit that being a port from the new consoles, with an X86 architecture, its optimization will be much more efficient... or so I hope

Best regards!!
p.d: Wow, what a joy to read that it will come out for PC :troll::troll:

They still have to port it to the new consoles xD because the rockstar pigs only made it for the old ones to make money and now they release it again for the new ones and pc to make another pile of money… I bought the 2 new consoles and I don't have any games xD

GTA3 was the big joke of the year because there was no PC that could run it. The magazines couldn't stop making jokes about it. I remember playing it on my Athlon XP 2000 (I think with a GF4 mx440) at 640x480 and 16 bits and it looked horrible without running perfectly. Then Vice City came out (with the same graphics engine) and that one ran smoothly.
When GTA 4 came out it also ran pretty badly, but as you said, after a few patches they improved it quite a bit.
-
On the 3rd I had to play it on a ps2, the first one in 3rd person, that was a real breakthrough. On the 4th, the consoles were struggling, I was able to try it on xbox 360 and ps3 and on pc it was eating up cpu like there was no tomorrow, my 920 was going full blast. As always it's good when another one comes out, now they say the 5th is very short and the online is the bug in all its glory xD

I played it on a PIII 866+GF4 MX 440(64MB 128Bits), but I don't remember it running badly, to be honest. However, it's possible that back then, being not very demanding with graphics and having less experience in the world of computing, I had a distorted view of reality.
In any case, I have a fond memory :troll::troll: I mean, I'll consider myself lucky to have played it so happily... blessed ignorance xDThat said, damn bug that wouldn't let you save the game, so every time you quit the game and came back in, you started the game from scratch  Until I found the patch the many times I had to start the game over.
Saludos!!

+1
Another one here who loved it without too many graphics and who also experienced the save bug

Greetings

The thing about GTA V being short, is that it lasts 50 hours instead of 100 +/- hours of the other GTA's? I would be worried if CoD 4, or similar, lasted longer than a GTA :ugly::llorar::ugly:

Well I don't know how long it lasts but 50 hours is fine although I prefer more XD when it comes out I'll play it, and I hope they polish the online, what scares me is that they start to release online and neglect the story, but I don't think it will degrade the call of duty :troll: I criticize it a lot and I buy it every year, I must be a masochist, but well.

If this is between ps4 I expect something good for PC and with mods I don't even know, I want to see this after watching this.

Wow! What a change. The lighting has really changed; it looks like a different game. A feast for the eyes compared to the PS3 version.

Interesting, especially the disappearance of the crazy vibration from the vehicle wheels as they move :ugly: :ugly: :ugly: :ugly: :ugly: :ugly: :ugly:
PD: I buy Titan cheap second hand

Finally...
I don't know if I should build another pc at the end of the year or wait a little and get a steam box...
any news about the requirements for this gta?

Well, for now we don't know since the news is from E3 and they haven't said much yet, I would buy a PC and an xbox one pad, it will surely be cheaper than the steam machine and you will get more use out of it.

What I like about the Steam machine is that you finally get rid of the mess of cables and the space that a PC takes up and you have something small and nice that looks like a console but with all the raw power of a PC...
But you never know when it will come out or if they will port the entire Steam catalog to Linux

That said, no Xbox controller, I would play with keyboard and mouse even super mario

GTA5 coming out for Linux is the wet dream of many Linux users, but I doubt it will happen in the next few months. In fact, I'm sure that port won't be made with GTA5. For now, only Source-based games and products from independent studios are coming out.
It's also true that there are already more than 500 games available for SteamOS and recently Civilization V has also become available.
But I see the people at Rockstar as being too conservative when it comes to platforms.

I agree 100% with what you say Cobito, it's the discussion I always have with my friends about the future of steam and games in general. I want to think that Gabe Newell has enough strength and that the piece of the steam pie that rockstar and company lose by not participating is enough incentive to port the games. I don't care not to see a GTA5 on linux if in 4 or 5 years steam machine and all its ported catalog are the norm.

It was about time, I thought I was going to die without trying it on PC :ugly:
The funny thing is that I will have to change the crossfire very soon, the games are already consuming too much…

It's not that they swallow it, it's that you go with lag, but well, lower specs and run, I'm currently managing but I'd like a little more juice.

Great news!! I was hoping it would be released for PC, but I think that until it comes out I will have time to finish IV :ugly:
Yes, after years of having the game in Sparrow version, physical (DVD) and on Steam… I finally got serious about getting to work. I'm already around 60 hours played, Tecnho can vouch for it in my Steam profile :troll::troll:Anyway, I think it's a bad strategy to sell it after Christmas for PC, even if they want to give priority to the new consoles. Anyway, I'm not in a hurry since I'll wait for a more reasonable price to get a copy.

I already have in my possession the new parts for my new computer!!
I really will use the i7 950 at my parents' house (I need something with more power :mudo:) and with the nonsense I treated myself
The truth is that I was thinking of an i5, but I got carried away and ended up with an i7 4790K + MSI Z97 Gaming 7+ SSD Crucial M550 128GB(you don't know how much I missed an SSD)…I'll tell you more… :llorar::love:;D
