15th Edition: What did you play in 2021?
-
@sylver dijo en 15ª Edición: ¿A qué jugaste en 2021?:
@_neptunno_ Vaya...

-Golden Memories
-Hope of Meridian
-Lost Library of Demetrius
-Puna's Revenge
-Marooned
-Resurgence
-In Search of the Blue GemY alguno más que me dejaré seguro...
-Hope of Meridian.
-Lost Library of Demetrius.
-Resurgence. No lo he probado.
-In Search of the Blue Gem. No lo he probado.
Himalayan Mysteries - Full Version

Well, I... tachin tachan...
World of Warcraft - Shadowlands
(now frozen waiting for patch)
And some games of Fornite and I still play PokemonGo on my mobile, we have a pretty big and active community in my town.I spend more time on cryptos than on games now
besides I still train almost daily, so little free time... especially since I try to sleep a little more than the 5 or 6 hours I used to sleep (I try to get to 7). -
This of having the "luck" of being able to leave the house every day, because you have to go to work, hasn't allowed me to enjoy the "good side" of confinements and states of alarm, so between little and nothing this year.
Trying something from the mountain of games obtained for free

The Alien Isolation, FarCry 3 and in both cases abandoned at the first opportunity, so in the end I spent more hours on the tests with the PCEm that ended with "I'm going to try this game... a classic, do you want to see it?... it's also already configured on your computer... do we play at the same time?... and hours that vanish revisiting and commenting:
Loom (1991)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure (1989)
Wolfestein 3D (1992)
Lands of Lore (1993)And many others that didn't succeed after the first hour of play

This of getting old...

Salu2! Jugones!

@Fassou the thing about having a pile of games (or rather a mountain), but since they have given away so many and such good ones, it happens to me like it happens to you that it always takes time to find time to play them jajaja
I think this year I have played a bit more at the "game mode" or campaign level, I also realize that I have seen quite a few fewer episodes of series, although a little more movies. And on the other hand, I think that at the multiplayer level it has not been a year like others, which also means another time that you take out for the campaign mode.Multiplayer:
-
World of Warships. This is where I have given a bit more effort than other years... at least I already have several Tier X. But well, I will have to soften a bit and give effort to other things.
-
Word of Tanks. Very little, the truth is that since 2013 it has been the year I have played the least. Also, I wanted to disconnect a bit... which is good.
-
Dead by Daylight. I haven't played much this year, but well, I did give some hours just that it is a game that gets boring with so many campers... it is quite frustrating and I have stopped playing it for quite a while.
-
ARK Survival. Well, I consider this game something mixed, because you can play almost alone but really if it is multiplayer. I foolishly played a bit more than 100 hours in the first months of 2021. I have it for free on Epic Game. Let's see if I give it another try, but with time. Honestly, it reminds me a bit, saving the differences of course, of Minecraft and that type of games hooks me a lot, so foolishly the hours pass without realizing it.
-
Left 4 Dead2. It had been ages since I played it and I felt like dusting it off and playing it.
-
Friday the 13th. A while ago I played it, but I had trouble finding games and I passed a bit. This year I gave it another chance with a friend and we played a few hours. It is curious but if they polished it would be much more entertaining.
Campaign Mode:
-
Far Cry 3. I loved it, I had left it at the end of 2020 but I went full force and finished it. It had been a long time since I finished a game of this style and that I had as much fun as years ago.
-
Talos Principle. A gift that they gave me for my birthday of a game I was really looking forward to and I must admit that the 30 hours I played I enjoyed a lot, the similarity to Portal is incredible but its creators are the ones from Serious Sam!
-
Tomb Raider(2013). Finally I finished one of the "new" Tomb Raider, since 2008 I hadn't played any. I had started it a few months before, I think in 2020, but I had to start it from the beginning because I got lost in the story. I must admit that I found it a good game, maybe it took me a while to get into it and some mechanics didn't convince me but they did a good job with the game.
-
Ryse: Son of Rome. Another one that I also had pending, I had started and left it halfway... I'm a disaster! Nothing, I started it again and the 8 hours or similar I had a great time. There were some moments that I found it a bit difficult because of the control issue but managing to finish it.
Recommended if you like to play a game about Rome and where the technical aspect is impressive although the game is from 2016. -
FC3: Blood Dragon. Well, this kind of "expansion" of FC3 that has nothing to do with it didn't convince me much. It's not very long and it has its eighties vibe that can be cool, but I don't know, maybe FC3 seemed pretty good to me and comparisons are odious.
-
Burnout Paradise Ultímate Box. Finally playing a "car game", certainly not suitable for simulator lovers jajaja. Well, it had been a long time that I had it in the pipeline and I crossed the cable and played it.
Coming from NFS, it took me a while to get into it. But well, in certain races I did have a great time. -
Lucius 3. I liked the first one, the second one too although with nuances and quite a few bugs. The third one, honestly, they could have saved it... or waited to release it well.
-
Talos (DLC: Camino a Gehenna). I couldn't resist buying this expansion of Talos Principle in a deal I found in September. It seemed to me a bit more complicated and maybe I didn't enjoy it as much as the main game. It's a game that also relies a lot on philosophical messages and it felt denser to me.
-
Medal of Honor WARFIGHTER. Well, another FPS that I had for years and years stopped. I had started it I don't know if in 2014 or 2015, I left it stopped for something and since then nothing. The truth is that it had some fun missions, besides I played it after watching the GEO series so I was already super excited jajaja
But I had several problems with some missions to the point of crashes so I was quite disappointed.
Well, I have to put the levels of TR author, but it's late and I will add it... with the long text I wrote I hope it doesn't discourage more people from writing

Saludos!!

Well, as you can see, like many, without a new graphic and without a new console, I haven't had much incentive to play...

- Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Very good, perhaps even better than the first.
- Resident Evil 7. I really liked it.
- Resident Evil 8. It has very good and very bad moments, it's average.
- Super Mario 3D World. What can I say...
- Death's Door. An entertaining metroidvania.
- Metroid Dread. One of the best I've played, very much in the style of the classics.
- Age of Empires 4. Perhaps my biggest disappointment, they've released it very incomplete, we'll have to give it time.
- Dicey Dungeons. The damn thing is addictive, it's a turn-based role-playing game. You are a die and you play with dice. Die? Yes.
Anyway, let's see if things improve next year... Greetings to all!
-
I've had the same "luck" as @Fassou so I've had to cut back on hobbies quite a bit. I hope the Euromillions are kind to me soon. Following the inertia of the lockdown, I've been able to play a few games from the Gran Reserva collection from 1999:
- : this has aged quite well. Personally, I find the physics engines of most racing games from the late 90s to be weak at best. It's a genre that, in general and from my point of view, hasn't aged very well. I had the same experience with Need for Speed II.
- : one of the best games of all time that needs no introduction.
- : this is where I started with the cybers and the truth is that (apart from aesthetic details) it has changed very little since then.
- : for me, the best graphics of 99. More cyber meat and as much fun as the first day.
- : the essence hasn't changed much either but the graphics are nothing like what has been seen since version 3. It's still quite entertaining.
- : one of my favorite games. It also needs no introduction although, this one, I would play it on a current machine because it consumes a lot of CPU.
- : good graphics for the time but to be honest; I found it a boring game. Just a couple of races and that's it.
- : although more than one person here will want to kill me, I had never played it. I don't know if I'm just very clumsy, but at the beginning when the teacher is teaching you how to move, there's a jump in a place with small waterfalls that I spent about half an hour trying to get right. It must be Lara's revenge on me for ignoring her adventures for so long.
- : a timeless classic that also needs no introduction.
And all on original hardware from the era, which is absurd for almost everyone but I guess I just like complete experiences.
In reality, I've only played a few games on most of them to test them out. The biggest addictions have been to the SC3000 and AOE2. I wanted to get back into them after the summer but "luck" has prevented that.

A ver si me organizo!¡Saludos jugones!

Well, I'll forgive you because you're the boss
The truth is that I think most of us who play or have played video games have gone through the experience of playing a game that had come out years ago and for some reason they didn't... and then they tried it and either loved it or couldn't get through it.
I hope at least that you could enjoy it, I think the decline of the old saga, which culminated with the “Chronicles”, was already starting to be noticed. Although the curious thing is that with the TR 4 engine, most of the levels are made by authors and some real gems come out. Although it's true that there's a lot of work behind it and a lot of people animated, with the experience of the years.@cobito I recommend, if you didn't come out very disappointed from TR4, that you try some of the author levels that I sometimes comment on with @Sylver, you might be surprised, besides they are free. For example, Puna's Revenge is a clear example, with a score of 9.54.
By the way, you've played another game that I always liked, Midtown Madness!! Anyway, I see that most of us are becoming old-fashioned in terms of games hahaha. @Sylver dare to play Tomb Raider 2013, it's worth it just for what we like about Lara and exploring dangerous places haha. I didn't remember the ones I told you by MP, but I'm glad they helped you

@Bm4n it's always a pleasure to read you!! With Age of Empires IV they have had more than enough time!!, but well I suppose that AoE1 and 2 set the bar very high. For my part, it will take me a while, it seems very expensive to me and I'm very out of practice with strategy games.
Greetings!!
-
@_neptunno_ equally!
Well yes, also as they have done the remasters of the old ones recently, which include all the DLCs, in comparison the content of 4 looks small. But it must be said that the campaigns are very entertaining and have small video documentaries explaining how the weapons were, the real places, etc. very well done. If you have the Microsoft game pass I recommend playing it, if it's to buy I would wait for them to add more things. -

I didn't come out disappointed at all. In fact, I thought it was amazing that in the 90s there were already games with such large scenarios. As soon as I can find time to play a game, I'll try that level you mentioned (by the way, what an active community for a game over 20 years old).
Midtown Madness is another game with quite innovative open scenarios. I don't know if it was the first in 3D but it was certainly the most popular of a new racing genre.
Thinking about it now, the truth is that with Tomb Raider, GTA, the Madness series, Half-Life and company, in the period from 97-99 it became popular to create huge 3D maps, I suppose because the hardware started to allow it.

My thing is going downhill, but next year I want it to change, even if it's retro or modest things. In 2021 I tried several games but only played one seriously, and it's repeated compared to other years:
Updated Sensible World of Soccer: The classic Sensible World of Soccer but prepared to play from Windows (or Linux with Wine) with multiple improvements, updated database, online game...
What is strange is that this year I have not played OpenTTD. Before the pandemic I used to play it sometimes at my parents' house, but as this year I have only made visits that were safe from a health point of view, I have not done it, and at my house I always get involved with other things. In 2022 I hope that it will also have its moment.
-
Many of you will think that I am boring. But I have been having fun playing Warzone and a little bit of Battlefield V.
Regarding Warzone, I am a masochist because I don't win anything. -
Look how indie you are: either you play 90s games or some weird stuff that I don't know where you find
This year I've played less than last year, so from memory I remember:
- Horizon Zero Dawn (for PC): I played it back in the day on the PS4 and I bought it on Steam so I could play it again. I love this game.
- Metro Exodus: I left it half way. I played for about 15h and in the end it got a bit heavy for me
- Terminator Resistance: well, don't ask. what a mess
- The Outer Worlds: smooth and entertaining, I think they're making the second part
- AC Valhalla: I was bored and I put it on to pass the time. It's not bad but I liked Odyssey better. I'm finishing it.
This year I want to play:
- Cyberpunk: I'm waiting for them to keep patching it, although I think the PC version is already pretty playable
- God of War - the PC version that they just ported. I didn't play it back in the day because I didn't have a console, but I watched a full walkthrough and I loved it. I'll get it on Steam soon
Hugs!
-
@kalevala some of us have no solution, we live anchored in the past
But well we will have to push things a bit more current or at least from 2015 onwards jajajaIn my case this year I would like to play at least: GTA V (I am embarrassed, I love GTA and I still have not finished it), Stalker CS (another one that I have been saying for years... I just have no forgiveness) and Metro Exodus. If I can add one more, perfect... but I don't want to stress myself with difficult challenges!
What I am currently doing is playing a DS game that I hadn't played anything for 5-6 years. “The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass”, let's see if I can add it to next year's list xDGreetings!!
P.D: I am happy to read you compi

Hello everyone:
I've really only played a few things.
-
Team Fortress 2... this game must be 12-15 years old... I have no idea, but it's the one that entertains me the most.
-
Killing Floor 2. Another one that entertains me, killing monsters and thinking little.
-
Crysis 1... I felt like playing it again even though I didn't finish it. But it still seems very good to me. The old version, not the remastered one.
-
Euro truck simulator 2. One of trucks. The truth is that it seems like nonsense but driving a truck using a 32" monitor like the one I have relaxed me and entertained me, but I only played for a couple of months. It ends up being very repetitive.
-
Far Cry 5... unfinished. I found it entertaining but nothing more. The truth is that if I had played it as a kid, I would have been entertained, but I'm already at an age where I don't care about this type of game.
-
Quake 1. With this that they released as an update, I felt like playing it again. Also without finishing, but it still seems to me a timeless game.
-
Doom. The last one I don't even remember how it's called. I liked it but when there was some level that required jumping... I passed. That's right, accustomed to playing at a high level of difficulty, I found it really hard.
-
Metro Exodus. I have to finish it, because my graphics at 1440p don't move it well and I hope to change graphics one of these years... to play it in good conditions.
-
Sniper Elite 4. I played a few days but the same thing happens to me with most games... I play them for a few days and then I move on to them.
-
Wreckfest. One of car racing, with tests of destruction etc. Very entertaining, one of the best I've played in years in terms of having a good time, and that's saying something since I usually don't care about car games.
-
Command & Conquer remastered. I got into it with enthusiasm but I left it in less than a week...
This year I hope to play Stalker when it comes out, the Bioshocks, 1 and 2, I have the normal and remastered versions and I've never played them; Serious Sam 4. I played the 3 years ago and had a lot of fun. I also think I'll play the Half Lives again, I haven't touched them for years. Finally, I would like to play all the Mafia saga games, I have them but haven't played them yet. The Cyberpunk, when I change platforms and graphics I'll play it, but I'm still with an I7 2600K (which I hope to change this year) and an RX 580 of 8 Gigas and for these games I prefer to wait to change the equipment to play them in a decent way.

@amd125 I am also happy to read you
The truth is that sometimes I thought you would get bored with this thread that I open annually, but I am beginning to think that it is good to read again the players and not so players!!Well, you are stretching that 2600K well! The RX580 is still a good graphics card but it is true that at more than 1080p the performance will surely suffer.
Do you have a 32" UW monitor? I have had it for two months and I have not yet squeezed it with any simulator but I want to. The ETS2 surely looks great, I will surely have a good experience when I put it with the steering wheel. The truth is that I have several peripherals but little desire to use them because my house is small and sometimes I have little time or desire to give hours to get it running. I understand that ETS2 (Euro Truck) ends up being repetitive, but there are also many mods that give it something more "fresh". I dedicated 90 hours to it a couple of years ago, not consecutively but when I got hooked I played a lot. This game happens to me as with Minecraft (although this one has more training), I play hours without realizing it!Far Cry 5 and 6 must be very similar, in the end they are playing a bit with releasing games like churros. I will see if I play the 4th one, although it is similar to the 3rd but it has a couple of attractions that I like. And about Serious Sam 3, I have it on my pending list, I must admit that I tried it for a few hours a few years ago and I was not completely convinced, but I want to give it another chance.
And Half Life, another old glory that does not die!! I would love a third part, although we know that things are quite difficult
and I would also love another Portal 3… in short, dreaming is free!Anyway, I hope to continue reading all of you for many years, in the gamer zone and in the non-gamer

Greetings!!
P.D: Yesterday I played a few hours of GTA V… my God since 2013 it came out on consoles and 2015 on PC and I still had not enjoyed it… I had a good time, although in some missions the characters that

@_neptunno_ But if this is one of the most entertaining threads in HL!!
(at least for me).@amd125 it doesn't seem like a few things! some comments:
- Far Cry 5 I finished it and I liked it, like all the Far Cry but entertaining. The one that gives me a huge laziness is FC6. If someone has played it and recommends it, let me know
- Metro Exodus: I put 10-15h and finally left it. I don't know why but I couldn't get hooked and even uninstalled it. It's not a bad game anyway.
- Bioshock: how have you not played it yet??? And after 1 and 2 don't forget Bioshock Infinite. Radically different from the other two but a beautiful game and maybe the best of the 3 (for me)
- Doom: I haven't played any of the new ones (I think there are two?). Are they worth it? That said, I'll play on easy mode because with the little time I put into games I'm not going to be dying all the time

Greetings gamers!

Well, we'll spend all of 2022 posting things in the thread, do we accept the challenge? hahaha I'm glad you liked it. Personally, I'm excited to read you in a thread in a playful and relaxing way

Metro Exodus: without having played it yet... I remember that 2033 I liked it and I played it in one go but Last Light (2034) didn't hook me as much. I hope I don't have the same experience with this one.
Bioshock: Great Saga

Greetings!!
