    And to continue testing, start in error-proof mode, to see if that way you get some positive results.

    I use Mageia for the desktop: desktop and laptop.
    My server has Debian 8.
    On the Raspberry Pi that I use as a NAS and download server I have Raspbian.
    And on the Raspberry Pi that I have connected to the TV to watch movies and series I use OpenElec.

    I like Mageia for its integration with KDE and because I have gotten used to its drakes and its way of doing things over time. It doesn't have a very large community and its documentation is not the most complete, but that is part of the charm of this distro.

    Debian stable offers me very tested software (although a bit old), something important in a server where the latest novelties are not important. In addition it has a large amount of documentation.

    About the raspis, they are the typical options for each use. There is not much to choose from there and many of the alternatives have quite a few problems either in functionality or in performance.

    PD: I am thinking about merging my blog with the front page of HardLimit. There I have a large amount of information about distributions. Let's see if the front page gets a bit more lively because otherwise it would be all a monotheme about Linux.

    @krampak:

    Pass the scanpst.exe to the.pst that gives you the error. The scanpst is integrated into the Office, in version 2010 you should find it at: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Office\\Office14.

    PD: Welcome.

    Thank you very much, I will try it

    @Bm4n:

    What a great idea ?

    If it's something specific and is for all computers, the ideal thing is to block it on the router (if it gives the option). If not, on each computer with parental control is much better, as they said 4 years ago in response to the question, search on the internet how they work, besides, most operating systems already have that function.

    I know those methods, in case it's about several computers it is certainly more efficient than using the hosts file, but in my case I only want to block sites on my laptop, besides it would be a problem if in the future I wanted to change my router for some reason. I also tend to use the hosts file because it is versatile, it is a small file that only weighs a few kilobytes, it is easy for me to make a backup of it.

    I appreciate everyone who responded to me.

    Solution:

    For some passing reader like me who comes across this topic, I have already found the solution to my doubt, in my case it was a problem with the credentials or permissions of the hosts file. By right-clicking on hosts and going to:

    Properties > Security > Group or user names

    I needed the name %COMPUTERNAME%\\Users and I just had to add it to solve the problem.

    Note: This problem could be solved simply by changing my hosts file to a backup I had saved previously, but it didn't work for me because it always "replaced" the file, it is better to delete the hosts file from the etc directory and place the backup in its place. Keep in mind that this is only one of the possible solutions, since the reasons why the hosts file doesn't work can be several.

  • When I run sfc /scannow, I get an error

    Good evening.

    This request for help can be considered resolved, because I have run the sfc /scannow test again and it came out correct. I had previously run several tests and the error always came up.

    I don't know if it's related, but last night I turned off the PC and when I turned it on this afternoon it did some Windows updates and also gave me a warning from Panda IS application protection about wanting to run "playstv_patch.exe" and asked me what to do. As I had no idea, I looked it up on the Internet and found 4 lines that talked about malware, so I denied the execution and also removed this executable from where it was "users/app/….local/temp".

    After all this, I ran the test again and it came out fine.

    So tomorrow I will try to install the darn printer again to see what happens.

    Best regards.

    Install WXP SP3 from scratch, you save yourself problems and time.
    As for support, well, it officially ended a long time ago, but **it is possible to continue it until 2020**.
    To do this, create a text file and write the following:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSYTEM\\WPA\\PosReady] "Installed"=dword:00000001 ```Then save it with any name and extension **.reg**, and add it to the registry. Edit: Note, this solution **is unofficial** and is only for 32-bit versions. The 64-bit one is a bit more complicated.

    It depends if you want to install W10 or not.
    If you don't want to install it, and you want to let it show you the update button, uninstall the updates KB2990214, KB3021917, KB2952664, KB3035583 and hide the update.
    If you want to install it, download the image using the MediaCreationTool and use your W7 license to activate it.

    It seemed to be a distro thing. The X-Fi has had Linux support for years based on the source code of the driver that Creative released. The operation is quite polished, there are hardly any issues left to solve and what remains are minor bugs.

    @whoololon:

    Unfortunately, espinete is right again. :fuckyea:

    I've been looking for something more to contribute, but the situation I found is as follows:

    Apparently there are a number of users with the Samsung SSD 950 PRO M.2 on that motherboard (also with the Classified) and, to date (using BIOS v1.05), EVGA has not been able to give a satisfactory answer (it is possible to make it work afterwards as a storage unit, but not as a boot drive).

    I don't know from the brevity of your message if you have managed to boot the computer and have overcome this step, if you are referring to a driver that the OS asks for when starting… what is known is that both the drivers and the latest BIOS patch are linked above. There is little more we can do.

    The computer works like a rocket I assure you and I have the M2 as the boot drive and the first thing I did when I assembled it was to update the BIOS and I have been running it for a while now and without any failures of course when I have time.

    I meant to ask if the problem had happened before and if it could be due to some software modification (installation of new drivers for example.)

    But now that you mention the artifacts, it's not normal. And even less so that it happens after being in hibernation (it would be logical for it to fail due to overheating after a long session.)

    Which leads me to think that the graphics are messed up and it's not a matter of drivers. I suspect that you will be able to start up without problems in safe mode, but it will fail in a normal boot.

    Edit: Try running MemTest or trying with a LiveCD of the Linux distribution that you are most comfortable with or like the most.

    This error may occur if it is a large spreadsheet (for example, more than 10,000 rows). The following steps may resolve the issue:

    1. Close all applications, including Excel, and reopen the spreadsheet. Also make sure that all other Excel spreadsheets that are not necessary are closed.

    2. Remove any (unnecessary) formatting from the Excel sheet files: either select all (Ctrl + A) or on the right side of the "Home" ribbon, select "Clear" and then "Clear Formats".

    3. Set automatic calculation to manual. By default, Excel (re-)calculates formulas whenever a change occurs. To improve performance, Excel can be switched to manual as follows: (i) Click on the Excel ribbon or on "File" in the upper left corner (depending on the Excel version), (ii) Select "Options", (iii) go to the "Formulas" ribbon, (iv) select "Manual" (under calculation options), (v) select OK. To perform any calcutions manually, go to the "Formulas" ribbon and select "Calculate" (on the right side of the toolbar).

    4. Restart the computer if the above steps do not resolve the issue.

    5. Close any non-essential background applications after restarting, such as Google Desktop Search, as follows: either press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager (or Ctrl Alt Del and select Task Manager) or click on the "Processes" tab or select the service or program you want to shut down, but please note: do not shut down any task where the user is "System" or if you are unsure about the application. Shutting down any essential system processes may cause crashes on the computer. or click on End Task at the bottom of Task Manager to terminate the application.

    6. Permanenty disable background/startup applications: either press the Windows key R. or type msconfig and then click 'OK'. or on the "General" tab select "Selective Startup" or on the "Startup" tab, disable all items that are not necessary. or on the "Services" tab, select "Hide all Microsoft services", then disable all items that are not necessary. or select "OK" and restart the computer.

    7. Split the data into several spreadsheets.
