Although I'm late in sharing, I bought a gaming laptop and eventually had to change it to a desktop. Because, regardless of what people say, gaming is better on a desktop. It heats up less and has better performance from my point of view, of course.

Many thanks for the information about the i7 and i5. Manufacturers should have pity on people like me. Who thinks that as the number increases, performance increases. Why do they do it like this, unless you have knowledge, it turns into a mess.

Many thanks to the three of you. Indeed, I'm sure that by looking around more stores I will be able to get the price down a bit.

I will look into the MSI and the EVGA to see what their prices are like as well. I trust your judgment.

I have thought about the 3600 or even something smaller, but it's not easy to find stock. I will also look for second-hand ones.

Best regards and thanks to all.

Hello everyone, how are you? I'm back to this thread. For A or B, I finally couldn't buy the computer at the time... in the middle there were many changes, the budget could be stretched but... we entered the bad time for video cards.
I've put together this configuration, I'm still undecided about the tower (the Phanteks or the Be Quiet Dark Base 700).
The problem is, what video card to put together when nothing is available at the moment... would I have to change some other element?
Thank you very much for your help!

Thanks, I'm getting clearer with the motherboard.

The best option would be an RTX 3070 at a price equivalent to the RTX 2070 SUPER (or even the RTX 2060 cheaper). At least wait until February when there is enough stock, and see if the prices of other components don't go up.

@Raixz No hay de qué, esa configuración te irá bien.

The PC will work, it will work, it depends on how much performance you want to get out of it in gaming and stuff, in that case you would want to go for a higher end graphics card, but if you need to save money you can use it like this for now.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I meant HDD.

I compiled this to take into account:

Read the specifications of your motherboard in Storage, since the m.2. connection usually disables some sata or pci-e.
The m.2. nvme ssd is worth it if you are going to work with very heavy files, many gigas, or for constant reads and writes. If not, you won't get the most out of it, you won't notice it in performance.

If you are going to make good use of it, it will need a heat sink since they get pretty hot, causing throttling or in other words, low speed to keep working but with a loss of performance.

Other cheaper SSDs: offers of the WD Black SN750 at 80-90€ for 500gb.
The Sabrent Rocket are also a good option, except the Q (QLC) which is worse...

I know I got here late, but if you haven't bought it yet, I would put a better motherboard with the X470 in the Ryzen, and better power phases. And regarding the RAM, at least 3200 CL16, for Ryzen 3000. Besides, the 3000 series, except for the G series, doesn't have integrated graphics, so take advantage of one you have at home (at least 8600GT for Windows 10 effects,) and you're ready

Ok, I have already proposed to my friend what you are saying, I will reinstall the OS (I think it was W7) and we will try with an SSD that you can later reuse.

For my part, I have already been reading about the MSI Max B450, I have seen that in terms of quality/price the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max is not bad with a 3600, we would be talking about €114.90, so the initial configuration would be:

-MSI B450 Tomahawk Max: €114.90 (€94.96 excl. VAT)
    -AMD Ryzen 5 3600: €209.99 (€173.55 excl. VAT)
    -Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 16GB 2x8GB CL16: €85 (€70.25 excl. VAT)

I put the prices without VAT because I would have the opportunity to buy it, in the end it would come out to about €338.76. If I could sell my motherboard/processor and memory for about €150-200, I would get a more than decent change for about €150-170, right?

Honestly, it seems to me like a way to have captive customers and squeeze more out of them. You manufacture the complete module, so you make money on the processor, but also on the rest of the components, and instead of replacing the component, you replace the entire system.
The only advantage I see is that by changing the module, you save time, since you don't have to figure out which part is failing, you change everything at once and that's it.

For example: here are the memories that I put up the other day at the same price. The RGB ones went up to 210€, but the others are still at 125€. Some DDR4 4000. With the processor that you can put on it, you will notice it.

If it's like the one in the picture, you have the 8 pin atx on one side (you would only connect the 4 that fit), and two 6+2 connectors for PCI-Express

I would get a good motherboard that I could mount an nxt gent x8 on and give it my all with confidence, even if I had to scrape together the GPU, which I could then replace with something more suitable and end up with a pretty good rig.

    https://www.coolmod.com/asus-prime-x370-pro-socket-am4-placa-base-precio (needs boot kit)
    https://www.coolmod.com/asus-radeon-rx-470-mining-4gb-gddr5-bulk-tarjeta-grafica-precio (only has one DVI)
https://xtremmedia.com/?q=cconfig/view#A064080,A069398,A110359 (shipping to post office for 4 bucks)

Do you already have the case and power supply?

P.S.: The Crucial 3200s are being pushed to 3600 so the 3000s shouldn't disappoint.

Editing: Oops, I just saw that you've already got it.

I have an 775 that I built to make the most of the leftover 1150 ITX platform I had and to have a small computer for Windows XP, as you know I'm attracted to things with a certain heritage and for everyday use I still use the NUC.

The micro is an E5500 and the motherboard is a Zotac GF9300-ITX, currently using the integrated Geforce 9300 and if I get the urge later I'll put in a GTX650 and I'll have a computer that's almost a gamer from that era ?

By the way, let's see if I can change the result of my signature to be the NUC.

    Hello!
I agree, to play decently the first thing you should look for is "balance" between components and the second is "good graphics (in proportion to the equipment)".

An 1080TI, or some RTX2080/TI... I wouldn't go below that thinking about building a "big PC for gaming". Then I would balance the motherboard, memory, processor, SSD, etc.
For example, I prefer a "normal" SSD over an NVME if with the savings I can invest in a GPU, for example. From personal experience I can tell you that you don't notice a substantial change in performance but you do in your wallet.

It's true that in raw performance maybe Intel has a little more punch... but the price difference doesn't justify that little extra performance.
I have a 2600X, it works great for me although maybe I'm less demanding. But if you want you can put a 2700X and within a reasonable time you could upgrade to a Ryzen 3000... Anyway, even if you opt for Intel I insist that you invest in a GPU and don't spend a fortune on a mega monitor when there are many excellent monitors for less money (or are you a monitor perfectionist?).

Best regards and you'll let us know!
