In the same way that they have doubled the memory at no extra cost, perhaps over time devices could be added at no extra cost: webcam, microphone, accelerometer... It would give it incredible possibilities, even if all that can be incorporated afterwards.
That way, without raising the price.
When it arrives, I will tinker with it to the maximum, but its final destination is to become my download server, replacing my PC#4
-
psgonza and cobito, you'll tell me how it goes with the torrents that I might catch one (that is, with a guide for dummies, please)
-
+1 for that guide for dummies and see how it goes, maybe I'll go for the 512 one.
Regards.

If I don't get too late (before December), I will try to make a guide "of my own".

I'm not much of a "documenting" kind of person (I do it for work reasons from time to time, and it drives me crazy ;)) but I can assure you that setting up a torrent client on the Raspi is a piece of cake.
I have no problem putting the necessary commands here if you're going to use them a few times. After all, it's a Debian and it's all very "common".
Anyway, here I leave you a page to install it with rutorrent...
Turn your Raspberry Pi into a small SeedBox for BitTorrent downloads | Incognitosis
I think that installing Apache and so many other things just for a torrent client doesn't make much sense, that's why I use transmission (which has GUIs) instead of ru-torrent.

My idea is to replace the server I have (now broken without a system disk)
Until now I had a "bare" xp with the download applications, the shared folders and the management by vnc or remote desktop
If there is an easy way to do it, I will think of it and "give" it to myself for Christmas

Mystique, I don't think you had any problem…
I had something like yours, a PC without monitor or keyboard or mouse, with a linux and running the download app, but the change is brutal. No more noises, no more big boxes.
You don't have to be a linux guru to set it up, although a "minimum" knowledge always helps of course.

For those who don't know what to do with this little guy, and following the thread suggested by fellow Whoololon, here I leave you this tutorial on how to build yourself an "arcade table".

Coffee Table PiWhat a lovely thing! :cry

What an amazing table u.U
Whoever found it… I need to start sleeping less and make more time for doing this kind of thing! -
Well it still hasn't arrived and it's been almost 2 months (it said it would be available in 6 weeks).
I don't mind waiting, but I'm going to be away from home for over two weeks at Christmas and I wouldn't like to receive it and have the package returned because I wasn't there to collect it, so I have two questions:
- Does anyone know how much longer it could take?
- How do you send it, by post?
P.S. I ordered it from RS.

Ays, it seems they read HL:

Muahahaahaha!!! I have it working now!!
As soon as I opened it, I started tinkering with it and I thought I had already broken it :llorar:
How beautiful everything looks, so many options, so many possibilities. I think I'm going to cry.
By the way, don't connect an HDMI-VGA adapter directly as it can burn the raspi!! I will explain how to modify it to work safely.
In two months you will have an in-depth review :fumeta:

Looking forward to seeing that tutorial review, and if cobito says in depth prepare an afternoon of reading XD.

I'm bringing up the topic because I might get a Raspberry PI model B rev. 1 (the one with 256Mb) with case included at a good price. I don't mind about the memory because my intention is the typical one of torrent manager and a small web server without even MySQL and all without a graphical environment and controlled by SSH.
I already have SD cards and the problem is that the USB power adapters I have only go up to 650mA the most (less the one from the mobile, but I can't do without it) while for the gadget I've read that 700mA are needed and I don't know if then it will work for me. In the worst case, I'll buy a cheap one. For the first configurations I will use the HDMI cable from the WD TV Live Streaming and any USB keyboard. I also have a mini wifi adapter that Ubuntu and Mageia detect, but we'll see if Raspbian does it.

It's the Hard2mano offer, right? I've been tempted to grab it, but I've already given in to many whims this January to continue with the loose wallet policy :ugly:
You'll let us know how it goes

Best regards

Shhhhh… ;D
The opposite has happened to me, I've had very few expenses in January, and not much at Christmas either, so I'm going to dive into the topic.
