About repairing things, I post the answer to that question on the GSC forum.
@GSC:
–-QUOTATION---
How to use the repair kit?
Can someone please tell me?
---END QUOTATION---Well, as far as I have discovered,... you pick up some AKm74 loot, shove it in, (keep it in your inventory) double click the RepKit to open it up, and tell it which one to repair or salvage.
Works three times then it dematerializes and pops off to an alternate Zone.
Doesn't work on any other weapons afaik in its current coding.
Has a very annoying habit of presenting only ONE world model aspect if chucked on the floor for a photo shoot.
None of the Devs seem interested in answering zone-shattering minutiae as this either...Salu2! Stalkers!

If you figure out how to fire it with the BTR, tell me, because I couldn't do it ;D
And about the videos on YouTube, I think they are versions with additional MOD's, because in the ones I saw, the vehicle controls were different, and the driver's position, too.
DONE,
The only BTR I've found that can be driven (for now) is JUST BESIDE reactor 4 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, in the mission where you have to help a group of soldiers to finish off some Monolith thugs.
To fire with the BTR, nothing as simple as:
1º get into the APC (usually the "F" key)
2º start the BTR (usually the "B" key)
3º switch to 3rd person view (usually the F3 key)From outside the BTR you'll see how the turret moves and when you fire it, you'll see a lot of sparks.
If you stop the BTR's engine, the turret doesn't work (obvious), by the way, don't you see how much fuel it sucks, that's why I saw barrels of 25L around...
PD: Greetings from Baghdad ;D

I did drive that BTR, but since I didn't know how to shoot  I ended up trying to run them over or getting out and killing them using the BTR for cover

By the way, about repairing, I read that it worked when you had multiple of the same item, and the toolboxes were good for three uses, for example, having an AK-47, and getting two more, you could have one repaired. But I haven't tried it, because until they release the famous "Developer's Cut" patch, I'll skip putting in more hours
See you later! Gamer!

Well, I've finished this S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha :fumeta:
To be honest, I played it by chance, looking at the forum I saw your comments. If I hadn't gone in, I wouldn't have even known it was available :ugly:
About the game, I can say that it is WITHOUT A DOUBT the best in the whole saga, even though it has some bugs to fix, it works perfectly. The bugs I mentioned before usually happen if instead of following the logical order of the missions, you get ahead at some point.
As they have commented around, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to save quick games (F6) and occasionally, also the games with the option to save games, since you may have fallen into some loop or bug and the last game won't work. Auto-saves usually happen when entering an area, but it can be a pain to have to repeat a lot of things for not having had the precaution to save in between.
Some more tips in case anyone is interested (in spoiler):
! Since the last time I could repair weapons, after taking down three helicopters in the Bar area, I didn't have the option to repair again, so if you want to repair, you have to go to the bar from wherever you are.
You can repair in the tunnel downstairs in Cordon (I'm not talking about Sidorovich's bunker, I'm referring to Fox's, after completing a mission for him, he gives you a special price and repairs everything.
! You can repair at the bar of the big metal factory and during the time it is deactivated because they have suffered an attack, the one who repairs moves to one of the ships furthest north of the complex, but continues to repair. After taking down the helicopters, return to the bar.
! Remember that in addition to repairing weapons/suits, the armorer can implement improvements, and in some cases, they change to MUCH better…
! In the last stages of the game, the use of a car is mandatory, it saves a lot of time on the back and forth (what I missed in the other STALKER :llorar:
! The ideal equipment (in my humble opinion) to be well-supplied in everything is:
! Exoskeleton (because it's tough and gives you the option to carry up to 70Kg, with improved night vision and especially, protection improvement). I didn't find any, unlike other STALKER, I had to buy it by force. The first place I saw it for sale was in Army Warehouse, in the bar-shop that is underground, near the exit to Dead City in the Northwest. I also couldn't get it improved to run, something I missed, but it was the lesser of two evils.
Sack (you have to sleep occasionally)
Gauss Rifle (from the moment you have it, enemies are taken down from afar with a single shot, essential)
HK GP37 Rifle (to combine with the Gauss, in short distances and also in long distances, the best assault rifle, better with silencer and grenade launcher, precision and recoil improvements)
Obokan Rifle (I've carried it since I found the first one. It's also very good, although worse than the GP37. There isn't always Western ammunition, so sometimes you have to use the Russian rifle to be able to shoot left and right, precision and recoil improvements)
Silenced Pistol (Any model of the most modern ones is fine, I like the Walter P9M, improvements in firing rate, and toughness)
Anomalies Detector (Since you get the "Elite" model in one of the missions, they are no longer a problem).
Bandages (x15), first aid kits (x10), food (x10), drink (x10)
! Artifacts: There are of all types and colors. I usually collect them because even if I'm not going to use them all, if you sell them, they give you a lot of money (to buy ammunition when it's scarce, for example). The best ones, the ones that give you improvements without taking anything away (obviously), Quartz and Pellicle, then also the ones that give you a lot taking little away, Crescent, Electra, Ball of Twine, Snowflake and Crystal thorn. All that I was carrying at the end :troll:, even of some of them, I was carrying two :osvaisacagar:
! NEVER leave a body without checking, also pick up the weapons from the ground. You keep the ammunition and throw it away. In the corpses of the friends/enemies taken down, pick up everything that could be useful to you, ammunition (of any type, sell the one you don't use), bandages, first aid kits, flashlights or batteries, medicines, etc. In addition, you discover the locations of their hiding places where you can find everything you could need.
! By the way, there are several endings. I've seen at least two. The first one when going to see the monolith inside the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, as I had more than 100,000 roubles, the ending where the ceiling falls on you. Then I loaded the game again, and instead of seeing the monolith, I went to laboratory x2 and saw the good ending of the game.
! In reality it's not an ending, you'll realize (more missions from the beginning, with everything you carry in the inventory, but more difficult). I'm at that point, the first mission is to overcome a kind of puzzle finding 4 zone codes that you must have visited and know…
Best regards and good luck, I really think it's one of the best games I've played in my whole life, immersive, addictive, complex… it has everything (or almost everything). Don't miss the opportunity to get hooked.

If it was yesterday, it is very likely that it was already 18 in the city where the update was made, right? Or I don't get it :ugly:

It seems there is movement in the project, and they have published a list of improvements already integrated.
Some say that we will see important news in the coming days, coinciding with the anniversary of its publication (25/04/2014), and the one of the Chernobyl tragedy itself (26/04/1986).
Others, however, are dedicating themselves to making the developers give birth, as you can see on this website, if you master Russian or some online translator.

With 37 tacos on my back it is the only game I am able to repeat once and a thousand times. Even the worst of the three parts I love.
Greetings to all.

Well, players, they finally released it yesterday, none other than the final version 1.4005 of the Lost Alpha DC, which you can download comfortably from here (4 files of 1.5GB each), which, as you know, comes with everything and includes a very complete installer so that no one gets confused.
If you have the previous version, you can save it anywhere and you won't need it to play this kind of "remasterization" of the mod, of which you can see its changelog in this link.
See you in The Zone. Salu2! Stalkers!

But again playing STALKER Lost Alpha?

It's that I was testing the latest version S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha v1.4007 DC
There are some bugs from time to time because of the AI Life that causes extreme situations depending on how much we go for it, but otherwise, it is getting more polished.
And now, to continue playing in Free Mode

@Fassou I think it's a good time for me to continue with this saga (since 2007 I played stalker: shadow of chernobyl)…and I've been waiting for years to see if I can get into CS!! I'm already embarrassed to go from year to year and not dare!!
This year I propose to finish Metro The last light, Far Cry 3 and some Stalker… will I be able to fulfill it? XD
The problem is that for some years I've been more lazy to get into a game and dedicate many hours to it(ignoring some multiplayer games that were my downfall).Well, doubts… this Stalker Lost Alpha ¿is it really how SoC should have been? I mean, is it like playing the first one that finishes me in 2007 but with all its potential?
I like the idea
And, language issue… is it only in English?
The saved games. Do they work between versions?
Greetings, buddy!!
Edit: Is it necessary to install the original game?.. I suppose so, but it's my doubt.

Hello very much Mr. Neptunno,
First of all, I see that you say you only played SoC, so it might not be a bad idea for you to finish at least the STALKER - Call of Pripyat, although it seems that you also have pending the Metro - Last Light, which is much more linear and will take you fewer hours.

Let's see, doubts… this Stalker Lost Alpha is it really how SoC should have been? I mean, is it like playing the first one I finished in 2007 but with all its potential?
The Lost Alpha Project started as a MOD that recovered some of the ideas eliminated in the last phase of development of the first game (STALKER SoC), but it has ended up including (thanks to collaboration with GSC), several of the original ideas discarded in the initial phase, some of which evolved to become part of the other two games in the saga.
And, about the language… is it only in English?
Text in English and dialogues in Russian (some also in English with a strong Russian accent, if you choose the option when installing)
The saved games. Do they work between versions?
You already know the answer :). NO
Edit: Is it necessary to install the original game?.. I suppose so, but it's my doubt.
One of the particularities of this MOD is that, thanks to the collaboration with its developers, it has gone from having to install the original game (SoC) and then patch it, to being able to download the complete game directly (not SoC, the patched version ready to work, under the word that we have the game), which comes with a simple installer, and which in this latest version 1.4007 DC also has a Launcher that will save us a lot of headaches.
General recommendations:
It is a large MOD with small MODs that we can choose to install or not
It is recommended to have experience in the STALKER Universe, and to be clear that it is a game made by its community for the community as a tribute
Save the game every little while, or at least a couple of times in each map, because you may suffer some bug, due to some script that goes crazy
Your character will spend the day walking a lot, and fighting to manage the weight of his backpack, and what he needs to carry for each situation
In case it was not clear, save the game every little while!
If you get desperate looking for something, you can look for information in Lost Alpha WikiAnd that's all. See you in The Zone
Best regards! Stalkers!

@fassou Many thanks
(Old video in version V1.3000 but as a reference).
I downloaded it last night and I was able to try it out, so I could clear up my doubts jeje. Indeed, you don't need the SoC to install it, besides the language is in English, but I have seen a couple of videos where you can put the texts and menus in Spanish:I must say that this mod looks very good, I wonder if I will get into it and dedicate the time it deserves. Thanks for the Wiki thing and, I am clear that if I have more doubts I will ask you

Take care!
P.D: I suppose with this "Mod" you will get the most out of the Ryzen 1800X and the GTX1070 eh?
