@_Neptunno_ The SOMA is a regular giveaway on Epic Games, so if you're interested you just have to wait ?

It's more Sci-Fi and has less gore than the others, maybe it can be defined as more elegant, but in the end the studio has a very defined style, and they know what the people who buy their games like.

Their regulars might be annoyed by that Sci-Fi touch instead of the more gore stuff, and those who like Sci-Fi might find the story very worn out in series and movies, but if they give it to you ?

      Salu2! Jugón!

Well, that's a good question. As a happy user of AMD both in graphics and processor, I must say that Nvidia has, as of today, the best gaming graphics card that exists and I'm not referring to the RTX5090, I'm referring to the RTX5080. The best graphics card from the competition, RX9070XT, competes with the RX5070TI and to be fair, the 5070 is faster although also much more expensive. I have the RX9070 and although it's a graphics card that blows your mind, it doesn't come close to Nvidia in terms of technology. And mind you, FSR 4.0 is amazing and a huge leap compared to FSR 3.0 and the performance in Ray Tracing is more than enough to be very enjoyable (unlike the RX6000 which was the graphics card I had before). But even so, Nvidia is ahead.

The only thing Nvidia sucks at is supporting its older graphics cards on Linux. When they move them to the Legacy driver, those graphics cards become almost obsolete (the support for Wayland on older graphics cards is non-existent and soon those graphics cards won't be usable on modern distros). And I, as a Linux user, rule out buying Nvidia for that reason. Nowadays, the use of the old GCN graphics cards continues to hold their own with Vulkan thanks to the support given to them on Linux by the community and because AMD publishes their drivers in open source under the MIT license.

I don't know, I think Nvidia takes advantage of the circumstances but it's still a giant that has CUDA under a proprietary license and has practically turned it into an industry standard and that gives them an advantage through a de facto monopoly. But they are still the best graphics cards, they still have the best technologies, the best software and the best implementation protocols in AI. That's a fact...

To be honest, I can't talk much about games, as I rarely play old stuff. But the topic of Windows 11 is something I deal with continuously at work. The latest issue is that on some of our Surfaces, normal USBs (not the USB-C Thunderbolt) have stopped working, along with associated devices like webcam and bluetooth. All users say it happened after an update, and I haven't found a quick solution yet because when you try to uninstall the update, it gets reversed. After several repairs, installations, reboots... it works again, but it takes precious time. So, between Surface and Windows 11, we have the perfect storm.

And you know there have been other issues, like problems with printers or audio after some updates. At home, it works well for me, but I only use it on the gaming computer; for more typical tasks, I use a mini PC with Linux Mint.

You're right, @pos_yo selling hardware from years ago as new sounds a bit like a joke, but given how the current landscape is, you can expect anything from NVIDIA!!

I suppose that as long as they maintain driver support and the official warranty, these 3060s will occupy that segment of users who can't (or don't want to) reach the prices of a 40 or 50 series. In the end, it's almost better that these 3060s come out "like churros", at least they have decent performance, rather than us being sold the capped 3050s or the eternal GTX 1650s that can't do anything more.

      ?

I'm doing my part @_Neptunno_ to be honest, I'm already a pure gamer, but thanks to the guys and friends who participate in the gaming community I created a few years ago and our private servers, I still make time every year to play these games and try many others through epic or amazon games

To be honest, it helps a lot to have a group of friends to spend leisure time ?

I'm reading you to get ideas for 2025 I'm not yet focused on any title, a few days ago I bought Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition and finishing it will be this year's goal ?

@Sylver I will have to investigate what you say about messing with editing programs, it's something I've been putting off for years.

Regarding Driver, I've been meaning to play it as I don't know why I only tried it a little back in the day and didn't delve deeper. And I thought it was such a movie-like story to be a cop going undercover.

By the way, I couldn't resist and bought "Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft", I'll be able to install it on February 14th when it's released. I can't help it!! when it comes to your favorite games with me, they make more money than I'd like to admit ?
It's definitely going to be one of the best Valentines I've ever had ?

      Best regards!!

It's my turn, let's see if I don't take too long, if not I'll edit it later and add more!! My favorite gaming library is Steam, however I already have so many games on Epic... but honestly I haven't even touched it jajaja life doesn't give me time.
Taking advantage of the fact that statistics of sessions, games, etc. can be obtained, here is the Steam summary of 2023:
      Steam_2023.jpg
      \xa0
      \xa0
Stalker CS: I enjoyed it quite a bit, but because of the great idea of adding mods to improve its gameplay, I encountered various bugs. Until I reached a point where I couldn't continue the game, so I had to reinstall it and look for a save in the area where I more or less left off. A bittersweet feeling, but hey, it had been so many years that I had been pending to resume the saga that it was worth it.

Doom 64: I had never played the first Doom, one of the most classic and iconic in its genre. Thanks to this one I was finally able to have the experience and enjoy the quintessential kill-fest. Of course I still have to play the original Doom, but I enjoyed it ?
The curious thing is that I started playing it on Epic Games, but since I also had it on Steam, I preferred the latter platform.

GTA V: I finished the story mode last year, but I played a few games and a while in online mode. As always, “great game”.

Quantum Break: I gifted it to myself for my birthday last year. I liked it, it's noticeable that Remedy is behind it (Alan Wake, Max Payne). But… it was a bit confusing for me because of the time-related plot (even though I love time travel stuff), very cinematic, some save points were very poorly planned. But well, overall I think it's a good game.

Portal With RTX: Simply the first Portal but getting the most out of ray tracing. It's always a pleasure to play Portal ?

Portal Reloaded: With the bug for Portal 1, I got into playing this mod based on Portal 2. It's very good, but I left it halfway because the difficulty level seemed too hard to me. However, maybe someday I'll get motivated to finish it.

Tomb Raider IV: The latest revelation. Well, it had been about 15 years since I played it “for the second time”. I was eager, I spent a very entertaining Holy Week and enjoyed a classic xD

Farming Simulator 2013: I have a superior version on Epic, I'm not sure if it's the 2017 or 2019. However, I was eager to play it for a few hours since in 2013 I barely played 8 hours. I ended up playing almost 100 hours jajaja
It has some shortcomings that I hope will be addressed in the new versions. I imagine that a lot of time has passed.

Serious Sam 4: I barely played a few hours, let's see if I finish it this year. It's a game that's good for thinking little and de-stressing xD Well, sometimes you get stuck and have to use your brain a bit, but the best thing (sometimes overwhelming) is the intensity of the combat.

Stalker Lost Alpha: I had more fun with it than with Clear Sky, but I got a bit saturated and left it parked. Let's see if I continue this year and finish it. There's already a thread on the forum about the game, if you like the saga it's highly recommended.

Red Dead Redemption 2: I've played a little, the tutorial and a bit more. It's a great game, let's see if I get fully into it. Many hours appear in my profile due to the tests I ran to test the PC.

GTA III Remaster: I bought it on Christmas, well, I got the complete pack. Honestly, I see it as a rip-off that I have to pay €9.99 for a game that I already have and whose improvements are very poor. I understand that someone “new” might want to sell it to you as is and at that price I think it's perfect, but for those who already have it, it's a bit of a nonsense.
I knew it already, if I bought it is because I'm a huge fan and yet I waited a year to see if they improved something, but apparently they didn't do much more, at least in GTA III.
I've played a few hours, maybe I'll get excited and finish it, but it's not my intention. I'll tell you how Vice City and San Andreas are, these are the ones I'd really like to play again completely.
      \xa0
      \xa0

As for other games outside of Steam, the summary would be this:

Minecraft: Little just to try the RTX mod. It's amazing the effects of light and water.

Word of Warships: The only multiplayer game I play. I'll have to leave it a bit more aside if I want to advance in my list of games this year xD

Tomb Raider-Custom Levels: Of course, my strongest addiction can't be missing.
I'll detail the levels I've played later in case it helps someone, or if someone gets motivated to give it a little more effort ?

@qvengador said in 16th Edition: What did you play in 2022?:

I am very boring. I have been playing:

      • Warzone and Warzone 2

      • Battlefield V

      • Cyberpunk

      • Borderlands 3

The important thing is to play what one wants, can, and is allowed ? You precisely put in the list games that are for dedicating a good time… without forgetting that the ones that are multiplayer you can dedicate hours and hours!

By the way, I also took out of Steam the summary of the year, that I do not know if they implemented it recently or it is something that I did not notice other times, but it's cool:

      006a5520-d4cf-41a0-a626-67ac51020d7a.png

      GTA V: 117 Sessions
      Far Cry 2: 40 Sessions
      Serious Sam 3: 20 Sessions.

      Greetings!

Edit: As a spoiler for next year (2024.. if Putin allows it)... I finished Doom 64 2 days ago ?

I tried it back in 2008 and it was still worthy of the label "alpha version". I'm sure it has evolved a lot in these 14 years.

We actually have a video of a network game in the videos section and it really looks great:

Left 4 dead 2 came out in 2011, but I had another account, I think it was with Counter, and that account is from 15 years ago or more.

Anyway, it's a great game to start the current account. I just looked at it and I haven't played it since 2019. I need to reinstall it, because I think it's very fun, only now I play (although I play very little) Killing floor 2 which, although it's not the same, it's somewhat similar.

It reminded me of the Half Life 2 source code leak.

It seems to be set in Vice City again. Here's a comparison image between both versions:

      5edba4bb-6780-4d5f-89dd-1e44bdf6cc2e-imagen.png

At this point, one no longer knows if it's a marketing tactic or if they really stole the material, but if they stole the source code, it seems serious (according to them, they are "devastated") :

      cf1ec3c2-435a-4b5a-bb31-750da73be311-imagen.png

The one who leaked it will have to be careful about the number of stars that have appeared:

      9e44b8dd-2d76-4327-bea6-f91715aa20e8-imagen.png

It also seems that Take-Two Interactive has been removing the videos from Youtube, so after hosting an image of the game, Hardlimit is probably now among the most wanted:

Haha, I know something about that. There's one who makes an entire video rambling on the subject, only to conclude at the end that the manufacturer doesn't provide either o-rings or liquid refill.

I liked both "Prometheus" and "Alien: Covenant", I like the idea of explaining a bit about the origin of life and the Aliens, etc. And of the Aliens Vs Predator movies, if I remember correctly, the first one was the one I liked, despite the criticism and all that. Without being a fan of this fictional universe, I must admit I like the story.
