    @Espinetenbolas:

    I guess with the premium paid they are playing the long game to recoup the investment because otherwise there is little point in a purchase like this… time will tell if they got it right... Intel wants a piece of the pie and it remains to be seen if they finally come up with something decent for the mobile segment.

    There's one detail, recently Softbank sold Supercell to Tencent with a brutal profit in a very short time. They have to reinvest this fiscal year if they don't want to have to pay a fortune in taxes, that may have facilitated the deal. They paid just over $1.5 billion for 51% of Supercell in 2013, I can't find out how much they paid for the rest up to the 83% they have sold to Tencent, but Tencent has paid them $8.5 billion less than 15 days ago, so this deal has helped a lot with the ARM deal, in addition to getting out of Supercell now that it seems to be flagging.

    Also, the weakness of the pound has helped a lot... The odd thing is that no one else has been interested in ARM, which has a consolidated business model, a lot of customers who depend on this company, and solid annual profits.

    Regarding Intel, I think they have canceled the atom until further notice, so I don't think they want to compete with ARM in the segment of a lot of volume and little margin, they are more comfortable in the one with operating margins of more than 50%

    PS: Now that I think about it, perhaps the sale of Supercell was to finance this purchase and not the other way around. Perhaps they wanted a much bigger fish, and had to divest in other companies to facilitate the purchase of ARM. Who knows.

    Pretty physics, the good thing is that they have released it because as a game it is worse than Lucky's tale that comes with the Oculus. The stereoscopic thing is pretty to look at but you get bored quickly. If I had to choose that type of funny game I would go for Little Big Planet 2 on PS3.

    It gives me a lot of trouble to ask for the Rift controllers that come separately. I am not convinced by anything I have seen so far, I hope I can manage with the console controller. Quite comfortable in the chair :ugly:

    Editing: Anyway, sorry for making you read obvious things, I wouldn't download that even if I had the controllers, I used to emulate an Olympic Gold from the megadrive xD

    You can see that drop. As long as it doesn't affect performance, we're doing well

    Once people have enough, what more? the low range is that. Another thing is that manufacturers by reducing costs earn more and have a margin that they could lower the price or include some extra, which they do not do for obvious reasons xD

    The same as all manufacturers whenever they release a new product. For me, the 1080 is a graphics card that is surely giving them many manufacturing problems, hence the shortage, and from 600€ we went to 800€, and the 1070 doesn't go below 530€. Too much for what they promised, besides that according to what we have read it has a limit of 2000mhz, no matter what you do.
    Let's wait for the 480x, if they fulfill what they promise in price-performance it can be a worthy competitor. Not for brute force, I already said price-performance. The 1080 is already a beast that eats the 980.

    If expectations are met, the new AMD will do a lot of damage to nVIDIA because of the starting price, and about what whoololon says, it's normal that they save something, because they will be afraid that Vega could be too big a leap, because of its innovation (or it could be nothing at all).

    @whoololon:

    Well, it seems to be creating a trend, as Seagate has also released a 10 TB HDD based on helium-sealed technology.
    They don't mention the transfer rates or the rotational speed, but this trend will definitely make computers lighter. :ugly:

    My question is whether audio files will sound more acute when played from these drives :ugly:

    When SSDs are priced equally to mechanical ones, I will buy them like candies ? (and I already have two and have ordered a third for the patriarch :troll: ).

    Let the discount not stop!

    Well, I like it, it looks well built.
    It looks like it could be a great HTPC+Console, but for me it would be much better if they had put the 3.5 inch hdd in… it offers much more potential.

    If size doesn't matter, there are clearly many better options.

    Don't believe Nemo either, they're not that expensive, the issue is that they were giving away the usb2 because the controller doesn't cost much and they want to clear out the stock. But buying a usb2 hard drive is throwing money away.
