@rul3s As long as it's half as cool as it looks, it's worth the cost.
A curiosity, is the front panel removable for cleaning?
On mine you have to take the whole thing apart and it's a pain in the ass.

@rmc1982 said in Introduction to Ryzen [Memory, IMC, Configuration, OC]:

Very good guide to understand many parameters that are unknown with Intel. I switched in January/2019 from an i5 4690K to a Ryzen 7 2700X and I couldn't be happier. I use the memory at 3600 that comes in the board's QVL... and everything is great.

      Best regards!

And you take them to 3600 with the 2700x? If so, you've got a very, very good IMC, it's usually difficult to go beyond 3400 without getting errors in the HCI... have you checked that just in case?

      Best regards!

      These are mine:

      https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/64b904/is_my_ram_bdie_gskill_ripjaws_f43200c16d16gvkb/

And the truth is that they run at 3200cl16 without any problems. I bought them six months ago for 125€, and they have not disappointed me. I tried the Dram Calculator for Ryzen and got a decent improvement. They managed to boot at 3466 casl16 1.38v, but they were not stable. That said, figuring out if they are single or dual is a pain. These are micron MFR single. I also have some ballistic 2666cas16 with micron around here, which I read can reach 3200 cas16. I set them to 2933 cas16 without problems at 1.35v. This thing with memory and ryzen I think is the same for Intel, if you want oc you have to go for some good ones.

@garfield said in X470 motherboard for a Ryzen 2600 and in the future a Ryzen 3000:

Very different from those of Scithe. I have two Ninja, one Rev.A and one B and they do not have AM4 mounts. And I believe they would be more than capable of being able to dissipate them. A shame. They will die in the drawer

I have the exact same problem, at that time a friend got the Scyte Ninja v1, I got the Noctua NHU12.
Some time later when he renewed his PC the Scyte ninja was left in a drawer as we did not have support for the new sockets, despite using the same system as the new versions (read in forums) in customer service they told us that nanai, that neither for free nor paying would they send them to us.
I will never buy anything from Scythe again.

By the way, I already have all the material and I am doing tests, as soon as I have good conclusions I will tell you, for now, I leave you a FireStrike with the 2070:

I certainly don't get any benefit from that little bit of boost or PCIe 4.0. With a 480GB MP510 I can get miles for less than 100 bucks. Then at the price of the graphics cards, for PCIe 4.0 to start to be noticeable that's going to be a rip-off. I honestly will change if I don't run Cyberpunk well in a year, to a 3600 for example with an MSI B450, for 140€ because it comes with a good sound card with the Pro Carbon, because a Mortar of a hundred or so already moves it. And memory is more of the same, you can find BBB 3000 from 75€. We're talking about a 12-core for over 200€ and even less in a combo of motherboard + RAM to run it. P.D.: What a crappy fans on the chipset xD

I've read about these models, and it seems that the best one is sold as 2070OC, which is similar to the 2080 and 2080ti. The truth is that I don't understand any of this. And from what I've been reading, it's not that much better the OC compared to the normal one. I think it improves temperatures a bit, but seeing the deaths of the 2080s, it's better to stop being silly. Because it seems to be due to high temperatures of the GPU, which as they use the same heatsink, end up dragging the memories. The solution that some seem to have found is to lower the speed of the memories. Strong solution.

I'm going to update this topic with the "temporary" results obtained.

Indeed, thanks to the UDP HOLE PUNCHING technique, I was able to connect a VPN server and client without needing to open ports, but there's a BUT.

As you may know, lately ISPs have started using CG-NAT, which is a HUGE SCAM, because the UDP HOLE PUNCHING technique doesn't work under CG-NAT because it does a PORT RANDOMIZE and then the Source Port of the VPN server changes with each connection it makes, for example.

If I have a PC with the VPN server on port 1194 UDP and behind a CG-NAT, when sending packets to another computer, that 1194 probably leaves the CG-NAT through another port, which WE DON'T KNOW because it applies a PORT RANDOMIZE and maybe it ends up going out through 55123.

I've tried using a 3rd server where the "vpn server" sends some packets to be able to discover the SRC PORT behind the CG-NAT, but of course, that assignment waiting for a response is only for that 3rd server, to which the client tries to connect through that hole, the CG-NAT blocks the connection since it wasn't the original recipient, that's what HOLE PUNCHING is about.

Do you have any idea or know of any procedure to "jump" over this barrier? I know it's possible to ask the company to take us out of CG-NAT, but that's not a valid option because in the end, the one who will run the VPN server may even be behind a shared mobile connection, where there's no way to open/redirect ports either.

I know what I'm asking for is quite complex, but you never know where one might find the solution!

      Best regards.

      P.D: @krampak I mention you just in case ?

If it's any consolation, look for higher voltages and they will work. Even if they are a bit bigger. Here in Las Palmas I have an electronics/components store that is reliable and usually brings them from Japan. Although 4v is not a standard voltage, it is usually 6.5v which would work perfectly for you.

During the sales it is usually €9.99 or even cheaper, I think I got it for €6.67. If you can wait for the summer sales, which are supposed to be on June 21, you can save some money.

@kynes said in What the hell is going on with AMD's graphics stock? No RX560, no RX570, no RX580:

It seems that according to the president of AMD, they are increasing production smoothly, they don't want the market to be flooded with second-hand cards after a mining crash or a change in algorithm and preferred card, which would eat up a huge stock of new cards without selling. In Asia, they released mining cards without video output, but not even that worked.

Well, it makes sense, and their solution of releasing cards without video output, if they release them a bit cheaper, that's also good, but of course, they should release enough to cover the mining market, otherwise they will continue to buy the regular ones... ?

But it's curious, that then you look at the CPU usage in the task manager, and I don't see at any time that it's at 100%.
So... if the CPU doesn't go to 100% but when doing OC it improves, the GPU isn't either because it gives me almost the same FPS in low, medium, high... So what is it that is limiting me from having more FPS?
It can't be the amount of RAM since it uses 8GB of the 16GB I have, unless it's the speed of my DDR3 at 1600 CL10....

I know it's a dream, but I would like to have stable 144fps for my 144 screen ?
