@whoololon said in Monitor for less than 90 €.:

Thanks to both of you for responding.

It's not just for next month (hopefully) it's to be able to buy it as soon as I get paid... and that it lasts long enough.

The second-hand thing just doesn't appeal to me; they are new and come with many chances of going wrong, even more so second-hand.

I understand that it must be difficult to recommend something low-end, but if it's better than a Philips 170C with three dead zones (not pixels, zones the size of a thumb) and the stabilizer broken, it will be music to my ears "der weno".

I found this "der weno" ham on here, which, not being much of a Philips fan, I must say it looks very interesting. Take a look to see.

In addition to having an open mind about TVs (speaking of office use), remember that there are stores that allow you to defer payments, some have a card that charges you at the end of the month, or you can set a maximum monthly amount that is spread over the following months, at no cost.

Many supermarkets like ECI, Alcampo, Carrefour, etc... have these options.

Regarding second-hand, you would be surprised at the number of repair shops, stores (for returns) and individuals who store "less new" TVs and monitors, and would be willing to sell them, and almost give them away to get rid of them and recover the space they occupy.

Absolutely right. I also repudiated the idea until I came across a couple of offers that surprised me. Seeing the products in situ, I learned not to rule out any option until I had checked the possibilities firsthand.

      Great idea

      You're being cheeky! ? ?

      Best regards!

Not much man, I'm just being sincere! ? ? I must confess that I came in thinking I would have to do a quick search on Amazon and when I read your comment, I had a flashback of that cheap TV. It was something like: "Of course man! Why hadn't I remembered?" ?

I understand that this, and looking for a needle in a haystack, is the same thing; even more so when the data I provide is "from memory" and I cannot be more specific for fear of adulterating the search.

It's that of everything I've seen so far, nothing even remotely similar: I have to filter results prior to 2015 because, although I suspect it's around 2005, I can't be sure. The same with nationality.

Anyway, maybe if I leave it aside, it will appear... as always.

      Thanks for the interest-

So that you can see how far my ignorance goes, I didn't discover the thing about Alcohol and ISO images (someone told me) until 2002 or so.

I, with one hand on my chest and the other in my wallet, I think I remember not going beyond Nero, WinAmp and EasyCD Creator. You can imagine the addiction I got (after buying that famous Philips CD burner in 98/99, yes, the one with the red button (CDD3610)) to copy "well" the games I rented at the video rental stores. To make matters worse, without internet.

I blame it on that, on the "hamburgerization", on having everything easy today, that you press three keys and "they give it to you done".

Anyway, it's like if they put a 386 in front of me now and ask me to configure the Autoexec.bat and Config.Sys for this or that.

Little by little I'm hitting the nail on the head: you have to convert the CDs to another type of audio format, MP3 or WAV, and compile it again as an audio CD without closing the disc, add the data track and close the compilation. And for the audio tracks protected by copyright, as I put it above (sound recorder configuring stereo mix as recording device) and repeat the process.

...and all for a game that I haven't even managed to get running with DOS-BOX (Microtrack by Aludra Software)

That said, thank you very much for your interest.

It is done using the IMSI in the operator's logs, which is obtained when you connect to the operators' base stations, if you have a battery-powered mobile (Alcatel had one) with only 2G they follow you exactly the same. You can only get rid of it by being disconnected from the network

I was just going to say that!

For example: here are the memories that I put up the other day at the same price. The RGB ones went up to 210€, but the others are still at 125€. Some DDR4 4000. With the processor that you can put on it, you will notice it.

In this tomshardware article they say:

1x four-hour burn-in, followed by a break of at least two hours
      4x one-hour measurement, with one-hour breaks
Total time at least 16 hours per thermal product and cooler

It's not days, but something is something... that is, it's from 2017 (although they compare a lot).

No es por nada y...esto es Spoiler for the one who didn't see Episode VII...but I'm blown away by the most absurd way Hans Solo dies.
Are you serious? he gets out of many complicated situations in 3 movies and...they kill him that way with a silly face?
It's clear they wanted to get rid of him because he wouldn't participate in such movies anymore.

      End Spoiler!!

And for a fan like me, unconditional of this saga, it hurts a lot to have to say these criticisms. I will go see Episode IX and I'll have that excitement to see it. But I know they will disappoint me again (unless they realize they need to make a good movie once in their damn lives...damn).

      Saludos!

Precisely because I read all those links back in the day (and some of them again) my ears perked up when I read that someone had ME disabled and I wanted to investigate the matter.

Certainly, as you rightly say, these are very marginalized projects, both in popularity and in resources, and the worst part is that bridging it is the only alternative in the absence of a third manufacturer in dispute (I think my grandchildren will see the ZhaoXin thing) that does not implement its control module in the processor.

Regarding whether people care, of course most users do not even know what ME/PSP consists of, or that it even exists; but it is also true that I do not know to what extent it is healthy to worry about something that you cannot avoid or correct.

      Thanks for responding.

For now, I'm going to use what I have until I get a more polished graphical interface. What's really bugging me is that the version of Remote System Monitor that allowed for the customization of views as analog clocks (and for free) was an old one and was on the phone that broke.

The idea is (was) to grab a cheap tablet I have lying around, attach it to the front of the tower and have it as a hardware monitor with the essentials, and with the option for more complete details... anyway, I'll keep looking.

      Thanks.

That's where I was going, because I was told that, everything that is not RAID1, it's better to do it with software; because I don't know to what extent the motherboard drivers are compatible with each other. ? Once we reach that catastrophic point, the fact that "only" had to be rebuilt would be the least of my worries; not losing the information would be enough for me to be happy. Thanks for the clarification.

For me the main changes are in the app stores, especially game with Steam at the forefront, and online music and video services.

In my personal case I can say that I no longer pirate software, since I have access to Windows licenses and anything else or I pay for it (games) or I use free versions or at least free ones.

As for music and video, well, I have periods, although I have some things through Movistar (the most basic plan that exists) or Amazon Prime, and some months Spotify for music. Anyway, I am not entirely innocent in this. It is true that I am making a small collection of essential movies on Blu-ray and I want to do the same with music CDs, however "old-fashioned" that may be.

I hadn't heard about this issue (I've been a bit busy lately). The truth is that it's all very strange. I don't know what kind of profitability they would get from discrediting AMD, but if they are truly exploitable vulnerabilities, I'm sure there are states and organizations that would have paid a fortune to have exclusive access to this information.

Don't stress, think about the number of devices that won't have new firmware with new microcodes, in addition to the fact that there are surely hundreds of vulnerabilities that are more "attackable" than Spectre, in addition to the fact that browsers will introduce patches to prevent attacks with JavaScript, the most serious due to its use in almost all modern websites. Moreover, think about how many Android phones will be left on Android 7 or lower, and I assure you that for a hacker, the information on your phone is much more useful than that on your PC.
