Duron 1600 o 1800, dependiendo de la placa base y memorias, puede interesarte incluso el 1400.
¿Cual de los dos?, pues bien, en este momento es 99% seguro que el duron que compres estará bloqueado, por lo cual tendrás multi fijo y además no podrás activar la caché L2 completa para pasarlo a Athlon XP (Esto realmente tampoco es una tragedia, porque lo que no ganas activando caché lo ganas en mhz).
Un duron actual, de la semana 4 o posterior de este año, te puede alcanzar perfectamente los 2300 o 2400 mhz, así que el tema está en que bus podrás alcanzar.
Si tienes una placa con nforce 2, que sabes llegarás a 200 mhz de bus sin problemas, vete a por el 1600, ya que su multiplicador original es 12, así que con 200*12 ya tendrás 2400 mhz, mientras que con el 1800 (multi 13,5) serían 2700 mhz (imposible).
Si además tienes una placa overclockera y unas buenas memorias, te puede interesar incluso el 1400 mhz (multi 10,5), ya que a 200 mhz de bus serían 2100 mhz, y a 233 mhz de bus serían 2446 mhz.
En la otra cara tenemos el caso de que la placa no sea una maravilla, que tengas kt333, kt400 o similar, y placa/memoria te vayan a dar 166 - 180 mhz. En este caso puedes plantearte el 1800, que con multiplicador 13,5 serían 2250 mhz a 166 de bus, y 2430 mhz a 180.
En fin, que la cuestión es ver que puedes esperar de placa y memoria, saber a cuanto bus vas a poder aspirar, y consecuentemente comprar el duron con el multiplicador más apropiado, que te permita sacarle todo el jugo en mhz, siempre con el máximo de bus posible.
Todo esto partiendo, claro está, de que un duron 1400, 1600 o 1800 van a dar los mismos mhz haciendo OC, a igualdad de stepping y semana, lo cual puede que no sea cierto 100%, y que existan en algunos casos un despreciable puñado de mhz de uno a otro al hacer OC, pero considero que se puede considerar prácticamente exacto para nuestros intereses.
