@namiga said in Motherboards and Multiple GPUs?:
Very good....
I was wondering if, really, any motherboard can support multiple GPUs.
My idea is not for gaming or mining BTC, but to return to Seti@Home
I am reading and I see that people use almost the same as for mining BTC, ethereum, LTC... t all resides on an Asrock BTC rev 2.0 (board with multiple PCIE X1...
The question is, if I wanted (which I want
) to make a machine for Seti@home with multiple GPUs... would I need by all means a board like this??? Or would a board with 3 PCIEx1 and a PCIx16... that is... a normal board... be enough?...
Best regards
They use the Asrock BTC because it has 7 pcie slots, so it depends on the number of graphics cards you want to mount for the SETI. If you want to mount a couple then a normal board will serve you, it all depends on the number of cards you want. As it's not for 3D, only for raw calculation, with the 1x interface there is enough bandwidth for the task. On the other hand if you wanted to mount a render farm or similar where there is intensive 3D use you would need more bandwidth than what the 1x channel provides.
